VINTAGE 1972 ALAMEDA FIREMANS HELMET CAIRNS BROTHERS FIBERGLASS FIREFIGHTER #40
This is a vintage Cairns& Brothers firefighters helmet. With an Alameda patch on the front. It is very scuffed, the visor is scuffed& scratched, no cracks. It is very dirty inside, I have no idea about how to clean it up(cloth, etc) so it is what it is. The adjustable size bands inside are cracked in spots. I do not know the history, it was found at a local estate sale. The paper label inside the helmet says it is model 660C, meets or exceeds the 1972 standards. Ther are some other letters after the 660c, that I cannot make out, the label is worn. It also has the Cairns& Brothers marks inside, as shown. Any questions, please ask, thank you! 36

This is a great fly rod with a sad history. After five years in the USMC when I got out I decided to learn to fly fish. I'd saved up $$. I went into a mid-Willamette Valley{Oregon} sporting goods shop that I didn't know was going out of business. I wanted a good all-around fly rod. my first one. This was in April 1975 and as a general rule back then. Service people were not held in good regard. What happened was the owner sold me stock that was improper for my use. He sold me this wonderful 7 weight rod that cost $75 at the time and a level 6 weight line. He also sold me heavy leaders. Etc. This was a good example of why the Curtis{sic? creek and other basic fly rod books were written. Needless to say it didn't work out. Lovely sounding. In great used shape Djembe hand drum. Wonderful if you are new to the world of hand drums or an experienced drummer looking for an inexpensive drum to travel to with. I purchased this last year to take to a drum circle in NY to learn on. 15" tall with an 8" tunable. Replaceable head it's no little toy. As you can see in the photos while in great sounding shape, the head shows some signs of use as well as a small wear mark on one edge. This head can be easily replaced at most drum/music shops( or ask a hippie lol) for a small price. Greetings eBayers, Here is an old vintage 2 piece flyrod weighs only 6 ounces. It is 8' long. One eyelet is missing. easy fix, see in pics) it is the one on the lower section of the rod. Neophrene handle, no cuts, splits, or holes. Missing some of the design gold wrap above the handle, easy repair(that's just cosmetic) The manufacturers name is wore off, but this might be from the Brule Rod Company from Brule WI late 70's early 80's. I do think it is all fiberglass? Good rod to use and catch fish or collect. Rebuild and hang on the wall of fame! Go ahead. Someone could make this into the fixture it was meant to be. But I don't have the ability. This great retractable fixture has brass metal frame that is 21" across It has a hard fiberglass cover of 20" that lies on top of the metal frame work. Coiled rope has been glued to the fiberglass cover and cleared with something. The cover is 5" tall. It needs restoration. The top screw on the pulley mechinism and ceiling mount are missing. 12' fiberglass canoe that was used once. Then stored indoors. It's Indian/birch bark style, and the minor marks on it are just from handling it. Very light, maybe 45 pounds. Mid-Century Herman Miller-style Orange Fiberglass Shell Swivel Bar Stools
Fantastic pair of orange fiberglass shell swivel bar stools in the style of Howard Miller. Each marked with an"S" on the bottom. Both are missing their rubber shock mounts. So they are a bit wobbly, but that is an easy fix. All of the fiberglass is in tact and both were recently treated with Penetrol to restore their original glossy sheen. They have a few minor dings to the edges of their shell backs. One shell has a small gouge on the edge of the seat, while the other has a bit of cracking where the seat bends into the back. However, these issues are simply cosmetic and do not affect the overall integrity of these stools. Both swivel smoothly on their atomic-style black metal bases, which retain all of their original metal chair gliders. The following auction is for a vintage lamp and shade. It is used. Its original vintage and not a remake or anything like that. Its dirty and dusty. The lamp and the shade both need cleaned up. It does power on and work.I just forgot to take a picture with it on. The lamp has the typical scuffs and scratches that a 50 year old lamp would have. Not exactly sure if this is called a fiberglass shade or maybe a wax shade. Its slick feeling when you touch it. The lamp has a few dents in it. No major rips or tears,but a few dings. There is one spot on the top where it looks like the wire is popping through the side a a little. The shade is about 9 inches tall and 9 inches wide at the top. The overall heighth of the lamp is about 28 inches. There is some discoloring to the metal towards the bulb side of the unit. The cord is in decent shape. Up for sale is a Phillipson Deluxe DFS70 Swamp Fox Adjustable Fiberglass Fly-OR-Spinner Rod. Seems to be all in good shape to me. All eyes are intact. It is 7' long when assembled. By what I have researched. I would assume this rod is pre-1955. Take a look at the pics and ask any questions you need answered. I am not a big fishing guy, but I will do my best to answer them. The Phillipson Rod and Tackle Company began selling fiberglass rods in 1950. The early rods were made with conventional techniques using Hexcel fiberglass. This gave a brown rod blank with a strongly figured pattern to the woven fiberglass. This time period included quite a few rods with different names. But a similar look(Chieftain, PowerKast, and Scout) The model number for these rods included a letter code and the length in feet and inches, i.e. TS76. The line ratings ... moreare given by line diameter, HDH or HCH. Occasionally, these rods have painted blanks, but most are clear finished. Please don't buy a vintage item and expect it to be like ... morenew unless I mention it. If you want new. Buy new. I encourage anything electric to have a new plug or cord put on, just common sense. I do try out all things to make sure they turn on, or work as intended, but can not guarantee how long a 60 year old item will keep working.
