Dayton Ohio Patent Oct.17th 1881.Nov.29th 1881,Jan.29th 1883,May 12th 1885 and serial#1050381.It's a beauty!the folding top has a little wood damage from a flower pot it looks like,and the original leather belt is still on it! It's cracked but it's still there after 132 years! It really is an amazing piece of craftsmenship,from the woodworking to the hand painted details on the machine itself.It weighs I'm guessing around 80pounds and I got it exactly as is.dust and all,I didn't clean it or polish it cause it really does'nt need it.It's amazing! Dovetail Corners. Inset Brass Hinges, Incredible This is an amazing antique oak box that once held sewing machine accessories, as evident from the metal brackets of different sizes and shapes inside. The box is ingenious and finely made, with dovetail corners, and thin brass hinges that are inset into the wood. A clasp on the inside holds it shut. A groove on the outside allows you to pull open the"top" and the box opens out to a flat shape by means of hinges at all the edges. Four separate triangular pieces of wood on both sides of the box make it possible to open the box to the flat position. The inside is lined with a soft fabric, one corner of which is coming loose. Inscribed on the top is an oval with"Patented 1889, February 19" inside the oval. This treasure measures 6.5 inches long by 3.25 inches high by 3.25 inches ... moredeep, closed. For sale. One Singer model 95-60 industrial sewing machine(head only) Serial number AE228007, produced in September 1936 as one of 3,000. Gear driven rotary hook. Drop feed. High speed(4000 spm) Max stitch 7 to the inch. For light and medium weight fabric. equipped with ball bearings at ends of arm shaft. Max stitch 8 to the inch" As with another of my listings, I rescued this grand piece of Americana from a horrible fate at the scrap yard. I have no table to test-drive it on, but it was still threaded when I got it, and had a band of pink fabric studded with pins wrapped around the machine's body. The mechanism turns smoothly, and the name'Dotty' is scratched into the paint on the bed. As with any sewing machine acquired under this circumstance, it'd be a good idea to have it serviced before putting it to work.

Singer sewing machine model 221-1 featherweight. The brass tag says: A century of sewing service 1851-1951. The machine is in incredibly good condition both physical and running. The black finish is almost perfect. The gold pin striping is all there. It comes with the original case. Instruction book, another book titled Outline of Student Lessons, a Singer oil can, Singer box with attachments, an extra bobbin, 5 thread wheels, and the original foot pedal. The case measures 14 x 12 x 8. This machine is unique because it is electric and ran by knee pressure by a lever on the bottom of the machine. the more pressure you lean on your knee the faster it sews. This machine is a rotary machine, a wonder to behold! The motor runs smoothly, the stiches are perfectly adjusted, bobbin and bullet intact. There is some electrical tape on the cord. So it must have been rewired at one time or another, but does not interfere with it's performance! The light does work but comes on intermittantly while sewing, so i am assuming ... moreit is due to the wiring. I do not restore items. It comes in a wooden carrying case. But the hinges are missing, and i do not have a key for it. Please look closely at the pics for finer details of the case. An Early Singer Portable Sewing Machine in"as found" condition. We don't know much about this machine however I would date it Circa 1900 or so. It appears to have been used on large articles or canvas items. We gave it some oil and the parts are free enough to move. Still has the old spools of thread and a nice wooden handle! It is marked 7951 Simanco USA and 35-1. The serial number is W1071820. We are selling it strictly"as is" because we cdo not know enough about it to comment on the working condition. An Early Singer"Red Eye" Portable Sewing Machine in very nice original condition. The serial number is G0910931. Which I believe dates it around 1910 or so. This machine is in WONDERFUL condition showing almost no wear on the decals at all! We gave it some oil and it is super free and loose. We haven't any other way of testing it. It even has the original locking key and a compartment for storage. This is a super nice machine all around! The decals are spectacular in color! The wood case is in nice condition as well. Shows a few scratches from age but nothing to detract. If you are looking for a real keeper, this one is it! A Beauty She is. Improved Eldredge Rotary Sewing Machine. It is missing the handle on the wheel I believe. When you turn the wheel the front(needle area) moves up and down freely. I do not know how to use even a modern machine. So I can not really say if all parts are accounted for and working properly. If you have any specific questions or things you would like me to check the machine for- I would be happy to do so. So please ask! The only electric part on this machine is the lamp(works) I assume is not original to it. On one side the enamel detail is great. The other side is a bit worn. It comes with all extra from the drawer. The belt is old and worn and the lamp shade is huge and worn. The wood base has a few small chips in it. The Singer machine shows little if any wear. It operates well and has fantastic logos. The only fault I can see is a little retouching to the"R" in singer in two places although I'm not sure why. I suspect that the original label in the factory was not optimal so they touched up the logo by hand. There are a number of pieces in place marked through 6. And the original felt on the underside looks almost good as new. There is a small wooden dowel stuck in the top#3 piece and the black metal. Not sure why though. The box shows wear from banging around but it has fantastic period sticker from TWA, Pan AM- including China Air ... moreand Imperial Airways. These drawers are off of a vintage New Ideal Treadle Machine Table I bought for the cast iron parts. The fronts are beautifully decorated and the drawers seem to be in pretty good condition with the following flaws(please look at pictures as well for condition) One drawer frame is missing the key hole cover and the lock mechanism for it is loose resulting in the lower drawer getting stuck and having to use a key to open it. The drawer frames themselves are loose and nails are coming loose as well(could be fixed with larger nails or wood glue. I'm leaving that up to you) One of the rails for the drawers has a chip off of it in the front but still works and has not really affected the performance of the drawers. One of the back bottom edges of a drawer has broken off. Superb antique hand crank sewing machine boxed
Feast your eyes on the most-beautiful Raymond machine that I’ve ever seen– it’s just like the day it came out of the factory around 150 years ago. But first. Just a little history. Charles Raymond was an American who. In 1861, patented a looper for chain-stitch machines. He started producing these in New England- but shortly after he decamped to Canada where he could avoid patent litigation and also have more-favourable customs duties for the UK. Which at the time he saw to be his more-lucrative market. Initially. Most Raymond machines did not carry the maker’s name. They were sold in the UK by James Weir, a parliamentarian who ran a successful sewing-machine shop in London’s Soho. Raymond and Weir eventually fell out and Raymond then marketed his own machines throughout the world using a variety of different agents. This one was supplied ... moreto the American Sewing Machine Company which had its headquarters in London. It was the ASMC that probably added this ornate claw-foot cast-iron base to the machine to avoid the need for clamping down or the machine wandering around as it was used. The machine itself is absolutely superb. Not a scratch on the paintwork or on the ornate gold decals. And check this out– it carries not only Raymond’s Beaver trademark but his signature across it as well. The base of the machine has some light rubbing to one corner decal. But other than that. It is as pretty as the machine itself. Be assured that this is totally original. It has no reproduction parts whatsoever and is totally complete. Even down to the correct needle. It has a hemming attachment fitted to the bed and the manches spins over freely without any hesitation or tight spots. Machine measures 10 inches left to right(excluding handle) 6 inches front to back and 7 inches to the top of the frame. We also have the original box. Though it is still included. The machine is untested. Up for auction is an Antique sewing machine by the Harada MFG Co. Both sides of the wood case say“HAPPY” in golden lettering. SINGER Mission Style TREADLE Library SEWING MACHINE & CABINET (like Stickley)
First regarding the sewing machine. It's a Model 66, Red Head. This is not the exact machine that came with this table, I sold that. The machine was the same though, a model 66, with the Red Head decals. It was a back clamp, and wasn't in as nice of condition as this machine is. So, I put this machine in the table. The only difference with this machine is that it is a side clamp. Side clamp just means the attachments clamp to left side, instead of the back of the foot. There are just more side clamp attachments that are available for the model 66 machines than back-clamp attachments. I am not providing any attachments with this machine for now. What you see is what you will be getting, just the machine and the table. Please note: Photos#5 and#6 show a lens glare. This is not damage or water spot on the top of the cabinet. It's ... morea lens glare! This machine has some normal wear and tear for it's age. I believe that it was manufactured in the very early 1900's. Somewhere between 1910 and 1925( Overall, it is in wonderful condition. The cabinet is also in very good condition. Red Head Singer(Model 66) with Singer Treadle Cabinet. This Is such a cute treadle cabinet and very well made. All the iron treadle gear can be hidden with a drop down board on a hinge to the right. Inside the cabinet. This drop down hinged thing also has the treadle wheel connected to it, so when in the folded down position, it covers the foot pedal. This is so unusual that even with all the"Singer Experts" I have communicated with, none of them could give me an actual model number for the cabinet. I'm unsure of the wood type. So I'll just say it is a dark wood. The style of the cabinet looks like"Arts& Craft" style or Stickley Style. It also looks very much like Singer's library table, which I think is#40 in the"Ismacs" website. Singer Sewing Machine Late 1880s This is an"Improved High Arm Singer" it says on the machine arm. Made by the National Sewing Machine Company in Belvidere Illinois. All the machine mechanisms seem to work. or should I say seAm) The cover is held in place by 2 metal feet that fit into metal holes in the base. There is a front slide out drawer which containes some kind of metal bracket attachment. The machine folds up from the base on 2 metal hinge pins. Once folded up to the maximum. The machine can be removed from the base. I believe this machine was hand powered as I see no evidence of any foot pumped belt drive. Bobbin winder is powered by contact with belt. There is still a boat shuttle and bobbin in the oscillating mechanism. 1925 Singer Model 128 Sewing Machine - Immaculate condition!
Up for consideration is a 1925 Singer sewing machine. It is a model 128 and has an oak dome top case. Serial number starts with AA and can be seen in the picture. This is complete with accessories that can also be seen in the pictures. I have not seen a nicer condition example of this model. From this year, ever. Knee bar included. Superb early 1860s original/vintage albumen cdv of Allen B.Wilson.The inventor in 1849 of the Wheeler& Wilson sewing machine taken by G.N.Granniss,Waterbury,Connecticut.Possibly signed by Wilson at bottom front below portrait. Allen B. Wilson's achievement was in the area of inventing and perfecting sewing machines. Two of those were considered the most ingenious and beautiful pieces of mechanism: the rotating hook and the four-motion feed. He claims to have conceived the idea of a sewing machine in 1847. His first machine was built during the spring of 1849. While he was in the employ of a Mr. Barnes, of Pittsfield, Mass. a cabinet maker. In the same year he built a second and better machine, and"up to this time, says, I had never seen or heard of a sewing machine other than my own. He sold a one-half interest in the invention ... moreto Joseph N. Chapin, of North Adams, and with the proceeds took out his first patent, which bore the date November 12, 1850. It formed a lock stitch by means of a curved needle on a vibrating arm above the cloth plate, and a reciprocating two-pointed shuttle traveling in a curved race below the plate. The feed motion was obtained by the two metal bars which are seen intersecting above the shuttle race. The lower bar, called the feed bar, had teeth on its upper face, and by means of a transverse sliding motion it moved the cloth, which was placed between the two bars, the desired distance, as each stitch was made. In 1851 Wilson patented his famous rotating hook. Which performed the functions of a shuttle by seizing the upper thread and throwing its loop over a circular bobbin containing the under thread. This simplified the construction of the machine by getting rid of the reciprocation motion of the ordinary shuttle, and contributed to make a light tool silent running machine, eminently adapted to domestic use. He apparently sold them right out of the factory. The company sold the machines only through mail-order catalogs. Thirty-five different styles were offered. The maker of the machines was not mentioned. But the company claimed they were made by the largest sewing-machine factory in the world. Because of that statement I looked up the serial number on the Singer site and found it to be from 1908. I also looked it up on the New Home site and found the number referring to 1909. Vaughn "D" Vibrating Shuttle Vintage Treadle Antique Sewing Machine Griest Foot
I couldn't find anything on this Vaughn sewing machine. Not even a serial number. Someone deliberately removed the word"VAUGHN" ffom the front of the machine, but you can faintly see it in certain lights. I don't know if they put in a patent and then never got one, or if it was some old version of a reproduction. The bobbin plate has a number stamped on it, but it isn't a patent number because the patent for that number doesn't match this type of item, and the number on that plate is 1808629. Maybe this is the serial number for the machine. It uses a Griest style foot and has a shuttlecock with the long metal bobbin. Pictures 3 through 6 show that the shuttlecock moves freely with the rotation of the hand wheel. The other pictures show that it's REALLY dirty. There may be parts available on this machine such ... moreas the bobbin plates, shuttlecock, bobbin, bobbin winder, needle clamp, possibly the Griest foot bar(since these feet are so easy to come by) and maybe even some internal parts may be interchangeable with other machines. Maybe since it moves and doesn't have any parts missing(and just needs a good cleaning and oiling) someone would want to strip it, paint it, and pretty it up. The machine is made with it's own level metal feet so that you don't have to put this into a cabinet to sew with it. Great-grandmother's Singer Sewing machine. Serial no. F9273612. This machine is a 1919 year model. It still had thread bobbin on it when I cleaned it up, and needle. The case is beautiful. There are several attachment parts, I do not know what they all are, but am including a pic of them. I did recognize the old pack of needles.lol. RARE Antique 1860s A.F. Johnson Gold Medal Double Thread Sewing Machine
1860s A.F. Johnson Gold Medal Double Thread Sewing Machine. Beautiful condition. Serial number is located on the needle plate. A super low 4315! This is an extremely rare machine, I can only find a drawing of it on the internet. This company was not around very long, later became New Home. The wood cabinet is in great shape. I see no cracks in the wood. No major scratches, it has a beautiful aged appearance. A decal of what appears to be hummingbirds is still intact on the front of the cabinet. It is missing the right drawer on the inside of the cabinet. The legs are in wonderful shape, a few chips in the paint here and there, but nothing major. There are still gold accents highlighting the detail of the legs. I see no cracks or repairs in them. Awesome shape, especially considering it's age. The machine is in nice shape, with most of ... morethe handpainted decals still there, as in the photos. I wiped it down with sewing machine oil to clean off dust, but I have done nothing else to the machine. The paint and decals are in pretty good shape, some worn off with time in places. It appears to be only missing a needle, but I'm not even sure how to thread it to sew, it requires no bobbin, it has a looper, and you thread it with two spools. It produces what they called a"double lock stitch" Everything turns, only tight, could use a good oiling. The needle plate is in the worst shape. It is covered in surface rust, and you can barely make out the patent dates, Gold Medal Smco, and most prominent is the serial number 4315. I can't find hardly anything about this machine on the internet, not even a picture, only a drawing on an old trade card! Very old, very rare, and the lowest serial number I've ever seen on a machine. I will ship to lower 48 USA only. I ship UPS, and insure my packages. This item will have to be sent in at least three boxes, the top, the legs, and the machine, to insure a safe delivery. It will not arrive assembled.
