These are 7 rubylith masks of the(Ragen 9274) IC Chip. Made in the mid 1970s, making them 40 years old. They are original authentic pieces from the same company where the Synchronar solar powered LED watch was made. These vintage rubyliths are considered old school IC chip collector's items, and also art collector's relics. They are the 7 masks required to make the IGFET CMOS: Integrated Gate Field Effect Transistor Complimentary Metal Oxide Semiconductor, chip in the wafer processing lab. They all measure 25"x 23.75" The 7 masks are as follows: 1. Well diffusion. 2. P+ diffusion. 3. N+ diffusion. 4. Contact. 5. Stepped Oxide. 6. Metal. 7. Bond pad. I took the pictures outside in the sunlight and elevated the film up off the white background to show the true red ruby color. This is an estate find. Don't know how much has been used. There appears to be quit a bit on it though. Total weight counting the tube is about 1# 14 ounces. The protection paper is brittle and several small pieces have crumbled off. Being sold as is as pictured. Safe for use with camera-speed darkroom films as well as indirect gelatin stencil films and diazo. Diazo acrylic, or SBQ sensitized stencil films or emulsions, Rubylith is primarily used in the camera and plate making operations for offset lithography, flexography, gravure, and screen processes where orthochromatic films and plates are used. Today the brand has become genericized to the point that it has become synonymous with all colored masking films. Amberlith® is an amber masking film. Amberlith® is"safe" for use with indirect gelatin stencil films and diazo. Diazo acrylic, or SBQ sensitized stencil films or emulsions. Amberlith® ... moreis not"safe" for use with camera speed darkroom films. Amberlith® is used primarily in the production of stencils for screen process printing. The amber film is easier to see through than the red, particularly when several sheets of film are overlaid to produce color separations. This auction is for a vintage 1960's advertising catalog.
