Interesting lot that was at the bottom of a junk drawer. Lot has one set of new Solid Brass Butt Hinges from Brainerd Mfg Co. One set of Nail on Ball Coasters from Roll-A-Weight but only two of the ball coasters are still in package, and one set of Buss glass tube fuses but only four of the fuses are left and tin is a little rusty and bent. Specs on fuses that are in the box are 30A, 32v on three of them, other one just says BUSS SFE 20 on it which is also what is on the tin, all fuses look to be fine and connected in middle. This set of hinges are salvaged items. The hinge on the left of the pictures has original finish& washed with soap and water to remove loose dirt and dust. It has some spattering of paint on it. The hinge on the right was soaked in paint thinner and wire brushed due to the fact it was so caked with white paint you couldn't even tell what the hinge looked like! I was able to get most of it off but it still has some paint in the ornate areas of the plates. They are 3 x 3. Pins are straight. Hinges move nice and free. No damage to the castings. You are bidding on 9(nine) VINTAGE STANLEY STEEL BUTT DOOR HINGES. They are all marked on the front side“STANLEY” and on the backside“FBB 179 MADE IN THE U.S.A. PATENT 2786229” I’m not sure how old these are and I’m not sure of the plating type. I’ll let you be the judge. They are all magnetic. The mounting plates measure approximately 4 1/2” long and 4 1/2” wide and the steel is approximately 1/8” thick. There are no mounting screws. They each have eight 5/16” countersunk mounting holes and weigh approximately 1 pound each. They open and close nicely. I only tried to take 1 apart. These are nice salvaged pieces that show the usual ware with some paint, some scratches, some oil and very little surface rust thru out. They appear to have no cracks or breaks. This is an old pair of 3 1/2 inch nickel plated brass hinges. These antique butt hinges have ball tips. They are stamped McKinney though only part of the name is visible. The total length including the ball tips is 4 1/2 inches. The brass is 1/8 inch thick. Much of the nickel plating has worn off. At some point they were cleaned with a wire brush or coarse steel wool.
