These hinges seemingly were intended to have application to heavy wooden doors. As the hardware appears to solely consist of wood screws. The hinges all work freely, are shiny and clean and without tarnish or rust. There are tiny scratches and imperfections in finish, apparent only in the pictures. They are not obvious to the naked eye. The hinges come in their original box, with the original packing material from Stanley. The original hardware is in Stanley bags, unopened. There are what appears to be three bags of(8) 1" wood screws. This I deduced by"candling" the bags against a light. The box label does not indicate anything about the ... morehardware, and there is no paperwork. Most of the issues making these used is associated with long term storage. These are substantial hinges, meant to carry a heavy door with ease. They are of old manufacture, long before everything started to come from China. These hinges are suitable for moderate to high traffic wood or hollow metal door applications. These hinges were from solid wood doors(4 hinges per 3' x 8' door) used in a library. 4 VINTAGE HEAVY DUTY LAWRENCE BALL BEARING STEEL BUTT DOOR HINGES
You are bidding on 4(four) VINTAGE HEAVY DUTY LAWRENCE BALL BEARING STEEL BUTT DOOR HINGES. Three are marked on the front side“LAWRENCE BALL BEARING OIL IMPREGNATED BUSHINGS” while I can only read“OIL” and BUSHINGS on the 4th hinge. I’m not sure how old these are and I’m not sure of the plating type. I’ll let you be the judge. They are all magnetic. One of the 4 hinges is missing the pin. The mounting plates measure approximately 5” long and 4 1/2” wide and the steel is approximately 1/8” thick. There are no mounting screws. They all appear to have the same hole pattern with each having eight 9/32” countersunk mounting holes and weigh approximately 1 pound 6 ounces each. They open and close nicely. These are nice salvaged pieces that show the usual ware with some paint, some scratches, some oil and very little surface rust thru out. They ... moreappear to have no cracks or breaks. I’ll leave the cleaning and restoration to the professionals. These may be the ones you have been looking for to start or complete that restoration project.
