1930s Vintage Hollywood Glamor Satin Bias Cut Ivory Wedding Gown
I bought this dress for my wedding. But we changed the theme and I bought another dress, so I never wore this one. This is a true vintage, possibly hand made, and is in amazing condition for a piece if its age. It is clean and ready to wear, with no discoloration at the underarms or other noticeable stains. There are, however, three small snags on the back, on the seat. I will send additional pictures if requested. The fabric is a light ivory/champagne white satin with an abstract floral pattern. It is bias cut. So it hugs your curves in a very flattering way. The V neckline is asymmetrical in front with a gathered detail, and deeply plunging in the back. There is a matching sash which snaps at the sides. The dress is pullover, no zippers or other closures. Originally $750. We're offering this stunning black lace dress from either the 20s or 30s. We are totally guessing on the age. We're selling this for a friend and she's thinking more like 90 to 100 years old. There is a cute little rhinestone buckle on the belt. The upper part of the dress is in very fragile condition, the lace is beautiful but the lace but the fabric(nylon? under the cream colored lace is falling apart. Repairable? Replaceable? Elegant 1930s Golden Yellow Satin Brocade Bias Cut Art Deco Evening Gown Sz 6 click picture to enlarge An elegant 1930s golden yellow satin brocade art deco evening gown that is so hot it simply sizzles! Made of unlined. Luxurious satin brocade, this bias cut beauty has a daringly plunging front V neckline with pleated collar detail, leading down to a row of self covered buttons that open to the waist. The dress goes on over the head and the buttons are the only fastenings. The wide pleats on the front collar flow together around the back of the high neck where they drape softly in a cowl neck. There is a"modesty strip" for the front which was originally sewn on one side and snapped on the other- it is meant to be inserted so that the matching self covered buttons on it continue up from the ones on the front of the dress, but it ... moreis no longer attached. It could be reattached if desired with a few stitches on one side and proper placement of the snaps for the individual wearer. The modesty strip will be provided with the dress. The bodice lays flat at the front and is gathered in the back and loosely bloused, and ends in a high empire waist. The sleeves are leg-o'mutton style with wide blousy shoulders narrowing rapidly to the elbow and then close fitting down to the wrist where there are snap closures. The dress is bias cut below the bodice, and the skirt hugs the waist, hips and derriere sensuously as only a bias cut skirt can do, then widening from the knees to the floor in soft liquid folds that open and swirl when you move or dance. The light plays on the luxurious golden satin brocade, and although the dress is form fitting, the bias cut satin smooths the profile in a most flattering way. This is a tremendously classy dress in true Old Hollywood fashion. The styling is all art deco with sumptuous golden brocade material and clean fluid lines. Vintage gown. Size 7/8 Although I was unable to find exactly what era this was from. This gown seems to still be in very excellent condition! The gown is a pale yellow and accented in lace and ribbons. It comes with all of the original buttons, waist tie and zipper. I've inspected the entire dress and only real damage that I can see is that one half of a clasp on the back of the dress seems to be missing, but that's something that can be easily fixed. True Vintage Black Floral Velvet 30s Gown Dress
This is a gorgeous dress/gown from the 20s or 30s. I'm guessing on the age it could be even older. I'm selling a lot of vintage clothes and items for a friend so I don't have too much info to go on. Many of the clothes are the victims of age and are not wearable, I am not claiming this one is wearable. This lovely dress has velvet flowers on a sheer, see through fabric, I love the beautiful butterfly wing sleeves. As far as I can tell I would consider this stunning dress to be in fairly good condition considering its age. I did notice a tiny little pin hole but no other visible damage. It appears to be a handmade gown with black contrast stitching all around CONDITION right away! the issues are tears and holes. Especially around the armholes in the sleeveless gown, several holes along one panel in the skirt area and some small holes in the back of the bolero I honestly feel these can be stitched and camouflaged perhaps with some small applique's or tiny silk flowers. However, I think a total attachment of a lining or undergown would solve most of these issues, the holes are not readily seen because of the gorgeous intricate flower design and the floaty, ethereal material there are also some light underarm stains ... morein the sleeveless gown although they again are not too noticable and can be re-seamed and restitched so they do not show at all there is one older repair underneath one of the armholes Now. Sublime antique wedding gown! This lovely dress from the 1930's is made of lace and comes with its original underslip! The collar is wired and therefore positional. It closes up the front with individual buttons and silk loops. The beautiful silk satin charmeuse? slip closes on the side and has weights sewn in the bottom hem. The dress has a beautiful sweeping shape and the slip echos this design. They are a pretty pair! This gorgeous dress is in very good condition-the lace gown does not have any breaks or damage in the lace. It is discolored in areas but note that this gown has not been cleaned; I'm sure a professional could work wonders. The slip has a small area on the side seam that has come unsewn. Very easy and simple stitching fix, but I leave to you. The slip has some water spots but they are located at the back and do not ... morein the portion that peeks through the front. Here is a beautiful black gown from the 1930s/1940s. The elegant black satin dress has an extra full skirt with a short over-bustle over the hips. The over-bustle and the tops of the gown are trimmed with black netting for a very elegant look. Black velvet spagetti straps over the shoulders. Zipper on the side. It is a SMALL size. Bust 32, waist 30, but the hips and skirt are extremely generous. It has been properly stored in a cedar chest and it was wrapped in tissue paper. The gown reminds me of the clothing on Downton Abbey. I wish I could say it was worn by Lady Mary, but I can't. No stains or odors. Real clean.

UNUSUAL Antique 1920s Vtg COBALT BLUE Silk Net Long Evening Gown Needlelace Trim From the original family. Comes this stunning two piece gown from the 1920's. Incredible cobalt blue silk net overdress with large ruffle around the bottom. Bodice is embellished with ornate needle lace in a rich. Warm cream color. The dress is tapered over both hips for gentle draping. The sleeves are short and there is a self belt at the waist that inserts through the bottom of the needlelace emblem. Underneath is its original underslip in dark blue silk. Very good condition for its age. I found minor discoloration on the needlelace. Please see photo. There are a couple of breaks to the netting near the bottom of the dress and I found an area near the bottom with a repair as shown. Also. As shown, there is a worn spot under the right arm. There is slight ... morediscoloration under the arms as might be expected. Measurements are taken on the outside of the garment while it is laying flat. Due to this the actual fit of the garment will be smaller. I suggest taking measurements of a garment of your own in the same way for comparison. There are no returns due to fit or size on clothing. SATIN DECO WEDDING GOWN, SHIRRED BODICE, STANDUP LACE COLLAR
This is a deco satin wedding gown with a train. Shirred bodice, and standup lace collar. It closes at the side with hooks and eyes, there are buttons and loops at the wrists. The bride's dried bouquet is included, along with a length of lace, and a note dating the dress to 1938. It measures 35 1/2" around at the bust. 24" at the waist, it's 15" between the shoulder seams in back. It's 53 1/2" long in front, from the center of the bust to the hem. It's 35" long in back from the top of the point at the waist to the hem, 102" long overall, measured from the top of the neck to the end of the train. In very good condition overall. With some light spots to the underside of the train, some slight underarm discoloration that is very faint on the outside, I only noticed it when I turned the dress inside ... moreout to steam. There are some spots from the steamer, these should come out with a hand wash or dry cleaning. The ribbon, a very light, delicate gauze, has holes throughout, there might be a yard or so that would be useable. The bouquet is dry, it came wrapped in tissue. I am also including the original satin hanger, decorated with flowers, that came with the gown. I will be listing a delightful two piece polka dot silk dress. Probably the bride's going away dress, and a bridesmaids gown from the same wedding.

She's had a rough life, but my husband still calls her his girlfriend and whispers sweet nothings as he waltzes her out to the lawn. I'd date this one to the late 1930's or very early 1940's. Very silky rustly rayon taffeta faille in a soft pink. Puff sleeves. Skirt is made up of ten gores. For a wonderful look. Waistline forms a downward vee. Self belt with rhinestone pot metal buckle. Double row of ruffles at hemline. Puffy sleeves are lined in white net. Closes at side with very long placket of hooks and eyes. 1931 Vintage Antique Old Wedding Bride's Dress Gown, Veil, Headpiece, and Shawl
This was my Aunt's wedding gown from when she was married in Westerly. Rhode Island in 1931. Since 1931, the dress has been carefully preserved in a locked cedar chest its entire life. This dress has beautiful lace and beads around the shoulder and neckline in the front and back. There is a floral applique on the left side of the dress of the same material. It includes the pictured unattached belt. The condition of the dress is as it was at the end of the wedding day in 1931. There are no stains. A small rip near the hem occurred while the dress was being worn and was never repaired. The headpiece and veil are also original. The headpiece is a laced cap style with beadwork on the sides. And has a very long attached veil. The included laced shawl is 85 inches wide but has a 15-inch ruffle on each of it's side. It is in excellent condition ... morewith the exception of several small tears at the seam of the ruffles. All of which can be easily repaired. To complete the package. Such a pretty vintage wedding dress! It would be great as a project piece or to fix up for your wedding. The entire dress is made of a gorgeous ivory satin that is in good condition. The top of the dress has a mesh neckline that has a few small holes. Right below that there is lace and an accent bow. The long sleeves each close at the wrist with 4 buttons. Fascinating 1920s flapper wedding gown Authentic flapper ankle length evening gown made of intricate lace. Ecru color. I t features a tubular silhouette with low waist. Raglan sleeves and it is accented with delicate ribbonwork type rosettes. The hips are marked by a flowing scarf tied on the side and a large rosette flower on the opposite side. VTG 1930'S I. MAGNIN & CO DARK NAVY BLACK BIAS CUT LONG GOWN HALF SLIP PETTICOAT
This is a vintage 1930's long rayon or taffeta bias cut half slip. At first glance it looks black but held to the light it looks purply so it may be a dark navy blue. It is tagged I. Magnin Importers which was a famous high end clothier and importer of clothing. It has no waistband. Just turned under and hand stitiched, and closes with 4 hooks and eyes on the left side. The measurements are a 31" waist, about 38" at the hips, and is 38 1/2" long with a hem circumference of 78" Condition is very good but there tiny holes at the back center as seen in the 7th and 8th photos and a bunch of tiny pinhead holes around the top at the waist as seen in the last 2 photos. Not really that noticable especially when worn under a gown. The color in the photos is a little light- the actual color is a rich medium pink which is best shown in the full length photos of the gown. Lovely lightweight silk fabric is worked into this exquisite gown. The bodice features a plunging self-fabric piped vee neckine and lovely pink on pink floral embroidery which is very finely done with silk thread. The bodice is further accented with seven diagonal darts with top stitching at the bottom of each cup as pictured. Full coverage paneled bodice back as pictured. The bias cut skirt falls to my lower calf- I'm 5'4" tall. Slips on over the head with ... moreno buttons or zippers. DESIGNER LABEL ~ No longer present. CONDITION: Good ~ No stains. Odors, fading, discoloration, streaking, rips, snags, pics or tears. There is a small grouping of five tiny holes(slightly larger than pinholes) on the back of the bodice near the middle seam and neckline- it appears that someone leaned against a rough surface causing the holes. There is also a pencil eraser size hole on the left front of the skirt near the side seam about 2-1/2" above the bottom hemline. We have taken these flaws into consideration when pricing this item. This is a pretty vintage 1920's bed jacket. A peachy pink silk. the opening. Bottom hem, arm and side openings have stitching. Satin ties at the waist. There are satin ties on the sides holding the jacket closed. I didn't clean this- there are faint marks on the inside and a very faint one on the outside- I tried to get a picture. Up For Sale: This is a Lovely Romantic 20's to 30's era Floral Print Dressing Gown/ Robe. The garment is hand made and the fabric feels like a very soft cotton. It is in very good condition- I don't see any holes or stains. The details include a beautiful lace trimmed collar.Slight gathers at the top of the sleeves, sleeves which have points at the ends, and hooks and eyes down the front for closure. The cut of the dressing gown is narrower at the bust and then fuller from under the bust to the hemline. There are no tags but this is estimated to be a size extra small to small. Vintage 1930s Silky satin Bias Cut lace bodice Peach Lingerie Peignoir gown
This was found stored carefully away in a cedar chest at an estate sale. It is free of holes. But it has not been cleaned and I did notice some stains or spots as well as some wear pulls on the gown front as shown in the photos. There is beautiful detail, lace and embroidery. There are no tags and the fabric has some give to it and has been bias cut and drapes beautifully. It is a little difficult to take measurements with this fabric, as there is so much give and slip to it. Please note these are approximate. I measured from side seam to side seam under arm- 39" bust. In a smoke free home, for over twenty years and it looks great! It will fit a size 6. 8, 10. I wear a 10~ 12 top and I am 5' 9" and this is a tad small in the arms for me and a bit short; The rest is o.k. I am the model) It is very wide because of all the fabric inside. When buttoned it is 32" around the waist. The shoulders have gathering(ruching) and are 14 1/4" in between. The length is 58" just the velvet) The arms have nice 3 1/2" ruching. Vintage Evening/Party Sequined Gown from the 1930s/1940s
This vintage dress is full-length and entirely sequined in black with a cream-colored/off-white sequined overlay design on the front. The label states"Created by Con Roy of San Francisco and the sequins appear hand-sewn. The gown has a sweetheart neckline outlined in black net gathers. It is strapless with wide black silk ties on each side. It is form-fitting until mid-calf and then gored for additional interest. It is estimated to be a size 10 and has been hemmed at 3 inches so the length can be increased. The original owner was 5' 2" tall and the gown was originally purchased in the 1930s or 1940s new. Vintage Dress Ball Gown, Southern Belle Victorian Lace Bodice, Silver Blue, Sz M
Beautiful Near Mint Condition Satin and Lace Ball gown. From the 1940-1950's. It looks like a southern belle, Civil was, Victorian dress, can be worn as a any of those as a costume with different accessories. Extremely well preserved almost mint condition. It doesn't look like it has ever been worn. I noticed only slight 2mm stain on the belt and 1mm on skirt(which will come off with dry cleaning) but otherwise the dress looks amazing. I have not owned a vintage dress in better condition. The lace bodice is beautiful with ruffles around the neckline and french style ruffle at the end of sleeves. The color is the palest silver-blue. The skirt is satin. It is a full skirt with ruffle at the end. It can be worn with or without underskirt. It has its own small underskirt with tulle but you can add to it to make it fuller. The bodice is ... morelined. The sash is stunning as well. It is roped satin with tassels at the end. Very unique design. However you may choose to wear it without. The dress reminds me of the southern belle era as well. All you need is a wide brim hat and an umbrella to make it so: Size US M(~8-10) EU ~39-42 Look at measurements. Beautiful Vintage Tiered Lace Formal Gown-C.1940's
This is a wonderful.Playful formal dance gown. Definitely from the 1940's. It has layers of lace that tier from the waist down. The lace lays over a soft pink under lining. It is shorter in the front, makes it a bit more daring for that era. Lovely pearl like trim runs across the top of the bodice.
