This gorgeous blue/violet rayon crepe dinner dress/evening gown dates from the 1940's and it has the original fabric-covered shoulder pads to prove it! The bodice features a sweetheart neckline. Short sleeves and a spray of beaded floral motifs beginning at the left front shoulder with the largest flower and crosssing diagonally down to the right hip with the smallest. The beading is done with crystal bugle and seed beads as well as prong-set rhinestones. The skirt falls straight from the hips to the floor-accented only with an amazing arrangement of hip draping that resolves into the waistline at the center front. there is a 15" deep slit at center front for walking ease. The dress zips up the left side with a metal zipper. The dress ... moreis very wearable and sturdy- clean and without holes. Pulls, spots. There is some fading/color change under the armholes on both sides(See final photos) This is not super noticeable when the dress is worn, especially in evening/artificial light. I will. However, include two scrap pieces of the blue crepe measuring approx 7"x3" that came with the dress. A good dressmaker could use them to replace the underarm area, if desired. The dress has loops for a belt- but there is no belt. IMHO. If I could FIT into this dress, none of these issues would prevent me from wearing this stunner happily! This dress is unlabelled as to size. The bride is 5'2" and she added a blush pink layer of silk organza under the skirt, so there is just a hint of pink in the bottom. It's a beautiful dress. It has a sweetheart neckline, is strapless, but the bride is wearing a bolero jacket covering her shoulders. Also the blush pink silk organza has some of the flower appliqués sewn on it. The bride is also willing to throw in the veil. The dress also has rhinestones on the belt and within the appliques. This dress has been dry cleaned and is being kept in a plastic carrying bag. collectible ANTIQUE edwardian SILK wedding gown/dress BEADS and MINK TRIM
antique wedding gown/dress believed to be of the Edwardian era dating between 1900 and 1920 a fabulous piece of history for someone maybe a museum to enjoy and collect the gown is made of two different silks a sheer silk and a satin like silk for the skirt area the colour is ivory or cream however the fine sheer silk looks a bit greyish to the eye as it needs a specialist clean the gown has real mink fur trims around the cape styled neck also at the sides of the dress and on the cuffs the dress has an inner bodice which the outer bodice fastens to with early press studs and hooks& eyes very beautiful detailing with pearl bead trims at the neck. Sleeves, and where the bodice meets the skirt, a couple of beads are missing from the neck the bodice silk is like a brocade with a metallic gold thread floral pattern this does have some age marks ... moreas you can see clearly on the picture the outer bodice is a similar design to a tabard and has splits down the sides that are edged in silk the same as the skirt and have 3 rows of mink fur between them it still has the original waxed flowers attached the sleeves are beautiful with a loose v shaping and mink trim at the wrist. Also ruching and pearl beads the skirt area is a simple elegant design adjoining to the bodice. The skirt area has some dirty marks which are age related my favourite part of the dress is the beautiful beaded tassle belt that is attached to the garment it is beaded all over not only the tassles but the whole length is fully beaded in small glass beads and pearls I.M not sure if it,s supposed to pull in the waist as i have shown or left a bit looser the dress looks to be all expertly hand stitched the only real flaw is there is a tear at the underarm seam it measures around 5" in length and could easily be restored by perhaps stitching a similar fabric patch underneath in my personal opinion this is in excellent condition for the age of the dress over 100 years old apart from needing the underarm repairing and a specialist clean it.S fantastic stit

Antique/Vintage Cotton Christening Gown.Pretty Lace Detail.Hand Made.
This pretty Christening gown that I am listing this evening have been packed away for too long.And sadly will never be put to good use by myself.I dare not bring any more dolls into the house so I am hoping that someone can put it to good use.It has been hand made with love and the condition is not too bad for its age.It has a few little faults which I have tried to show in my photos and will try and give details to avoid disappointment.It is not a bright white,but is in quite a heavy weight cotton.The neck and the waistband draw in to give a snug fit.There are panels of lace on the front of the bodice,one looks to have had a little repair,but nothing major.There is some delicate lace which has a crocheted look,and this runs around the front of the bodice and around the neckline at the back.The little sleeves are made up of pretty embroidered ... morelace with a scalloped edge.The lace around the neckline is really delicate and fragile,but in tact.the skirt part is quite gathered at the waist and then falls to a really pretty hemline made up of pin tucking,embroidered lace panel and finished off with a different lace with a scalloped edge.There is a small mark on the hem which I have tried to show in my photo,and there is a seam joining the bottom row of lace which is at the front of the dress.It is a shame that they did not put at the back or side,but this is hand made and From a none sewer Quite well done.No holes or mold marks that I can see.It measures approx 46cms in total from under the armholes and the length is approx 88cms.If you would like any more information please contact me.the seams on the sleeves could do with a little tlc,but this little dress deserves a chance,could even be restyled.

Antique Christening Gown - Silk Ribbons - Pin Tucks and Cut Work - Very Long
I have for auction this week a very unusual deeply flounced early 1900 gown with lots of silk ribbons threaded throughout the skirt. Bodice and sleeves. It has so many rows of pintucks and cut work frills up the bskirt to the bodice. Lovely full puffed sleeves and wide cuffs. It is unusual in that it is an exceptional 50 inches long! But. The skirt is narrow and it has a very plain back. This gown is all about the elaborate front which is very very decorative. So lavish that the maker did not spend time on the back. So, I would recommend this gown for a larger Doll. It will look stunning on a doll giving a long and lavish show. On a baby it would be narrow and restrict movement. It was actually quite difficult to photograph because it is so long. The back bodice needs a button and loop at the neck. Otherwise it appears to be in excellent ... morecondition. It measures 50 inches shoulder to hem and 10.5 inches armpit to armpit. Carefully laundered and pressed it is snowy white and ready to go. I do use detergents and an ironing spray both of which are scented. If you are allergic to fragrances please let me know so that I can air the gown thoroughly before parceling it up. It has numerous holes; most of them are quite small but there are five larger holes along the back button seam. One of the white glass buttons is missing. The dress has several areas of light discoloration. The dress measures 29&1/4 inches from collar to hem and eight inches from shoulder to shoulder.

Antique/Vintage Christening Gown.Cotton With Pretty Embroidered Bodice
These items that I am listing this evening have been packed away for too long.And sadly will never be put to good use by myself.I dare not bring any more dolls into the house so I am hoping that someone can put them to good use.This fourth garment is a really pretty Christening gown.It is in a white cotton,and has a picot edge around the neckline.There is pretty picot edging on the sleeves which are short.The front of the bodice is so pretty with an embroidered inset edged with a frill down either side again with picot edging.the back of the bodice has a frill also picot edge.The neckline and waist both draw in to give a snug fit.The skirt is plainer,quite long,and finished off with pin tucking detail.It measures approx 44cms in total from under the armholes and the length is approx 120cms.It is in good condition,no mold marks that I can ... moresee.One band on the sleeve is slightly shorter than the others,but I think that is the way that it has been made.I hope that you can find time to look at my other items as I am always happy to combine postage.

A fresh white cotton Christening gown with long panelled embroiderie anglais skirt and traditional mini pleat and lace banded empire line bodice The scalloped frilled edge has lots of detailed daisy and pierced motifs and the two insert bands are equally decorative and dainty- the lace is machine made The little sleeves are longish with ribbon holes for threading through the cotton lace band and open work loops which are repeated at the neck The gown has tiny cotton ties at the back waist and neck but one of the waist ties is very short and will probably need replacing Condition wise- the gown does have wear. Notably three darned holes and a rust spot on the bodice shown in image 5 There is also a small grubby mark under one of the arms.
