Dainty vintage 50's off white wedding gown. It is silk organza with a cotton lace design all over. Great detail on the bodice and down the skirt. It is fully lined with an attached acetate lining and horsehair trim on the hem. Scoop neck design and cap sleeves. There is a taffeta band at waist with a bow in the front and little sash in the back. It closes with all covered buttons and a snap where little sash is. This exquisite strapless 1950's-1960's White Chiffon Prom Gown/Dress is in lovely condition. The dress measures 25" waist. 34" bust, 55" from top to bottom of gown in the front and back, 152" around the bottom of gown/dress. The gown has a lovely built in crinoline made of yards of tulle. The gown could accommodate a much larger slip as the bottom is 152" around. The condition is close to excellent. There is a small pin hole on the bust. Maybe where a corsage was pinned. It is too small to get a picture of. It is so tiny I do not think anyone would notice but I would like to mention it anyway. Please view the photos carefully for true color in the dimmer photos. The gown has a wide scalloped ballet neckline in front. A small V in the back. The upper chest and back are sheer. the sleeves are long and fitted, also sheer, with points at the wrists and a row of white satin and net covered buttons and loops. The upper bodice is fitted with shaping at the bust and small darts below the bust. the bustline is lined with a double layer of white satin. There is a wide band at the waist, pointed up at the center front chest, and with an inverted V at the center low back. The band is lined white satin. There is a piece of wide scalloped lace stitched over the waist seam. The skirt is flat at the center front waist, full and gathered at the hips and in the ... moreback. And full skirt. Not sure of the size. Looks to be a size 2 or even a 0. I’m not quite sure. This is a beautiful vintage wedding dress. It is long sleeve and off white in color. It's Era is 74-95's according to the research I've done on the tag. My personal opinion. As a 90's bride myself, would say it's more late 70's early 80's in the range on the tag. This was not the style for wedding's in the 90's. I rescued this dress, among others, from a second hand store. I had to have it! It was a dingy yellow and almost lifeless there on the hanger. I bought it, brought it home, cleaned and brightened it up, air dried it in the sun and now.it's beautiful again. This literally made my heart sing. =) I think I've found my passion. This dress. Looking at it straight on, has only minor flaws. However, underneath the beautiful layers of lace, it is a fixer upper and perfect for someone who loves that ... morekind of challenge. However, you could literally throw it on, as is, and have guests tell you, how beautiful you are. This dress is perfect for types like me. Who want to bring them to life, carefree types who will love it"as is" and challenging types, who will take it beyond my bringing it back to life and to the next level. This is a fantastic vintage formal dress. It is a yellow flower sheer organza fabric over a layer of tulle petticoat and then a rayon slip. Strapless fitted design. The chest front and back has ruched detail and a yellow velvet bow. Side zipper enclosure, still has inside straps for hanging. Made by Cotillion Formals. This dress has just been professionally dry cleaned by a company that specializes in vintage clothing, at a cost of $30. See receipt in pic#12. There is no size tag on this dress. I would guess it is a current size 2/4, but please go by the measurements provided. I recused this dress. When I purchased the overall color was a light brown. After soaking for about a day to day and a half this emerged. Has cap sleeves. Flower trimmed lace neckline, gathered waist skirt with three layers. The overskirt is a sheer lace that has 28 attached flowers on a vine pattern lace. This is over a tulle middle layer with a white lining underneath that The back buttons with 36 buttons giving the bodice a fitted corset effect. It also comes with sheer glove/sleeves. Color/Pattern: White. Fabric Content: unknown. Several different types. Lace, crepe, and nylon/synthetic lining. Condition: Very good considering it was the brown shade ... moreof color that remains on the buttons when I started with the soaking.
