Garage sale find. Up for auction is a Rapala J. Marttiini Filet Knife. This classic style is a must for everyone who fishes. As you can see from the photos. This knife is used, but it has been well maintained. The wooden handle is in great shape with no chips or cracks. The hollow ground blade is straight. But it does show signs of sharpening. The knife slides easily into the sheath. The sheath is in good shape with no significant staining or water damage. There is a cut in the sheath where the knife was pushed through. After a light cleaning. I applied a light coat of oil to help rejuvenate and protect the handle. I have done my best to show the condition of this item. The other side of the blade is blank. It says- Rapala on the handle and the leather sheath with the trademark. There is also a letter M with a circle around it above the Rapala on the sheath. The knife may need a good cleaning. There are scratches on the blade where it has been sharpened. The handle is in good shape. There is some slight discoloration on the end. The sheath is in good shape with minor scuffs. The belt loop is attached. The knife locks in securely into the sheath.

This is a really nice old Rapala. The leather is not rotting or about to and the strap is intact. It looks like it was oiled all the time. The blade itself is very good. It's sharp and tight. This vintage Rapala fish fillet knife is in fair condition. As it has been used. There is a very small crack at the base of the knife handle. But it does not impair use. Just note worthy. There is also a small gouge near the top of the handle. Again. Just note worthy for an accurate description. The blade is engraved. As it should be. The blade also has symmetrical light wear marks. The leather sheath has heavy wear and cracking on the belt loop. As well as on the fishtail at the bottom. The metal triangle Clamp and grommet have rust. Vintage 6" & 4" Rapala Fish Fillet Knife Engraved J Marttiini Original Sheath
No Reserve Up for auction- hardly used. still has original engraving on both blades SET of 2 blades one 6" and one 4" in beautiful hardly used condition. At least 35 yrs old( i remember my dad using these when i was about 10yrs old. i'm 46 now. still has original engraving on both blades. sheaths are bright and almost look new. there's a little"goo" on the small knife( see last pic) which can probably be cleaned off. nice set to add to your collection or use regularly. J. MARTTIINI Finland RAPALA Filet Boning Knife Leather Sheathe Vintage Geometric
This is what I believe to be a fish boning knife from Rapala of Finland. It has writing etched into the blade. But it must be in Finnish because I can't make it out. One word looks like"Finnish. Knife and sheathe could use a bit of cleaning. Knife has a 4" wooden handle and the curved blade is 6" long. The knife is fitted into a tooled leather pouch or sheathe with a strap to thread your belt through. Leather has geometric designs and the name MARTTIINI with MADE IN FINLAND beneath it.

Vintage Rapala J. Marttiini Fillet Knife with Original Leather Sheath No Reserve
This vintage fillet knife is in great condition. It is solid with no cracks to the handle and the blade is in fantastic shape given its age. The metal ring has some oxidation but should clean up well. The pictures are a major part of the description so please check them out. There will be no reserve on the item.
