Vintage hatchet or roofing hammer. I'm not 100% sure: Looks like an extremely old roofing hammer to me! 13" x 5.5" total size. Head is 5.5" across. By 3-1/4" at the widest part of the blade. Has"MADE IN USA" on one side, And"NORTHERN" KING" on the other side. The word"KING" is barely visible. But there. Has'dot' pattern on both sides of the head. In the round part, might be an"M" and an"8" No idea if the dots are maker's marks. Or the tool's owner's identification markings. Head appears very used. Lots of little nicks. Dings, and minor rust. The blade edge has a couple minor little nicks. But otherwise isn't dented or crooked. Handle is loose if you wiggle hard enough. Has staining and cracking from age and use. Internet searches say it could be from the 1900s. This is a Tin manufacturers sample products catalog. I think they're out of business. It is 15 metal samples with a little write up on each. See photos. I didn't take pics of them all but you get the idea. This is old. It's condition is ok considering the age. There is some surface tarnish and one side of where the cover attaches is torn. Overall this would make a great collectible.

Vintage Antique Bostitch S4 730 Heavy Duty Hammer Blow Roofing Stapler
Up for auction is this vintage Bostitch heavy duty hammer blow stapler. I suppose its primary use was for roofing. It was my grandfather's and has been sitting in the odd-tools drawer of the workbench for 40+years. Its very solidly built. Quite heavy and designed to be used with a large hammer. The base is 10" long and it stands 11-5/8" tall. I'm guessing it's a collectable now. But could be put right back into service for sure- all parts and springs look to be working perfectly. I believe it to be a model#730 and i t has"735-S4 16 GA" stamped on the head block- probably the type of staples it uses. Questions welcome. Paypal only. U.S. 48 state ship only.
