Antique Union Company kerosene heater for heating irons. This cool old metal stove which was used to heat up the cast iron ironers used in during the turn of the century. This stove is about 9.5 inches tall. 6.5 inches wide, and 4 inches deep. It has a tank for holding the kerosene and uses a 3.75 inch wide wicK(still intact inside the stove) Knob on side of the stove regulates the length of the wick. When lit, the flame's heat rises and heats the iron resting on top of the platform. Fairly nice decal logo from the“Union” company adorns the front of the kerosene tank. There is an access hole on the back left corner of the tank which is plugged with a piece of cork(not sure but do not think the cork is original.probably used some sort of metal cap or plug. When electricity was introduced into homes, the electric iron replaced need for the heaters. Just about every housewife had one. Patent dates seem to range from about 1865 to 1901. The large wicks were meant to concentrate a large amount of heat in a small area to heat the irons quickly. Overall the unit is in fair to good condition, shown a fair amount of corrosion to the surface, blackening from heat, and dings and dents. Appears to be usable, but has not been tested. Sold in as described condition, with no implied or expressed warranties of any kind.

Radi-flux radiometer Induction heater heating 100 KW
Radi-flux radiometer Induction heater heating 100 KW Machine consists of a shutter and inductor system which is powered by a large muti-tap power transformer. We are not sure what the machine does entirely but from research it appears it is either an older radiometer or an induction heater. The machine was originally built in the 1960s but was overhauled in the 1990s. The name plate indicates 230 amps at 440 volts single phase. The machine is being offered as just the power transformer/inductor system.There are no controls included. The shutter and inductor system is mounted on top of the table. The two flat inductors stand vertically from the table surface and are connected to the transformer under the table. The insides of the inductor columns are stepped to allow the shutter to slide between them. The shutter is a liquid cooled cooper ... morerectangle which is pulled up by an air cylinder. The area which the shutter reveals when it lifts is visiable through the round apetures. The apetures are copper liquid cooled rings which are mounted in the sides of the inductor housing. The pictures of just the housing and conductors show an extra setup and are slightly different from the ones mounted on the machine. The other main component of this machine is the transformer. There is a 8 position switch which changes the taps. The transformer is also plumbed into the coolant lines. Reasons it could be a heat flux radiometer: Hy-cal designed and built machines for NASA and they produced a machine called the Hy-therm which was a circular foil heat flux gauge which has a similar description to this machine. Also called heat flux transducer. Gordon or Schmidt-Boelter gauge, and a pyranometer. Some radiometers are described as a machine with precision orifices which allow light radiation to pass through them and be absorbed onto a heat sink.
