It gives a classy Victorian feel to any application. It is 18" tall, it has a leaf design around the 4" brass base and 3-3/8" across the brass hands that hold tightly with springs. This holder is about 100 years old and the only markings on it is a Japan engraved on the underside of the base.

This glove holder once belonged to my Grandmother. Located it when we were cleaning out the attic. I can't verify when it was made. But certainly in the first 3 decades of the 20th century. Measures 12 inches wide. 3 1/2 inches wide, opens to 10 inches.There are two leather flaps that initially hold the gloves in, then the outer flaps are folded over where by the snaps hold the gloves in place. The word Gloves is written across the front. There is no manufacturer noted, shows signs of wear as you may be able to see in the photos(you may request additional photos) and may need to be freshened up. We are a smoke/pet free home.

I am not an expert in things like this. But I will tell what I know. This glove holder was in my Grandmother's collection. Then to my Father and then to me. I believe it was a gift to Grandmother. From her sister who taught school in Skagway, Alaska from just before the 1920's until 1950's and I think she purchased it during that time. She gave my Grandmother beautiful Native- Eskimo/Indian made items such as woven baskets, but I do not know if this a Native made item or not. My Grandmother. Born 1879, died in 1958, had this holder with her things, but I do not know how old it is. I do not think it was ever used. Two(2) Antique/ Vintage Porcelain Glossy Display Hands Outstanding condition. Great for store/home/jewelry display. These hands have great height. The tallest is 17 1/2 inches tall. And the smaller is 14 inches tall. They can easily display longer necklaces. The width on both of these is approximately 4 to 4 1/4 inches and both are about 2 1/2 inches from front to back. They are a glossy porcelain. There are no nicks or scratches. The are very stable when standing on the counter. Both hands are stamped(see photos) They were produced at different time periods. But are very similar in nature and work very well together as a set. The condition is excellent, but note that double sided stick tape was placed around the bottom to hold the lace in place.
