Up for sale is a Vertical Capstan Winch. Made by the American Engineering Co. This Capstan has been recently tested at 208 Volts 3 phase, and runs and operates flawlessly. It emits very little noise, and it shows no warning signs of any sort of motor wear. Although the specific capacity values remain unknown, we estimate it's weight to be around 750 pounds, and it's build date to be in the 1940's. Due to research on similar items, our estimate of it's starting pull is(at a minimum) around 5000 pounds. It consistently pulls rope or chain at exactly 48 feet per minute. The exterior of this winch has been recently refurbished by the seller, and the interior mechanics have been examined(without fault) and the oil has been changed. It is possibly o ne of only(2) known to exist. I have found zero references anywhere online about it.Or any others under the same name. This one and it`s mate were found stored in the rafters of a garage for 40+ years. Vana rt is still in existence today and they specialize in making prototypes for small co mpanies/inventors. This really is a neat little bo at. It is a 2-person boat.And has oars with it. It is made to be folded up and placed inside a canvas backpack. I ship the day after payment. Please use the Ebay ask buyer question method to ask any questions. There is insurance coverage included is through ebays shipcover insurance and is insured for the full amount of the purchase. I do this to protect both you as the buyer and myself for loss or damage during shipping.
