Snap-on MT-470 Digital High Impedance Volt/Ohm Meter
An oldie but goodie. The outside paint is not pristine. The negative probe is missing the pointed tip, and one of the protective feet isn't original-even with all that, this is still an excellent, accurate, bullet-proof volt/ohm meter. If you like the original, US built Snap-on product, this is an excellent example of that storied tool line. I've had this since I was a Snap-on Dealer in the 80's, but I haven't turned a wrench in many years. Maxon Utility Tester Ohm Volt Amp Meter Multimeter .
This is for a Maxon Utility Tester. It does not have tubes or transistors and is more accurate than most vtvm's with a three percent accuracy. It has a 7.5 volt internal battery pack and a high current resistor network to test Volts Amps and Resistance. It also can test leakage up to one megohm of resistance. There is only one range for the ohm meter. It starts at two ohms at the first increment and goes up to one kilo ohm then to infinity. You can plug in the power cord and plug appliances into the meter to get true amps drawn by the appliance. The manual shows how to test many household and automotive devices. This is a very old meter look at the photos and you will see it has a power cord coming out of the back. This meter has vacuum tubes in it as part of the circuitry part this is very unusual. Do not find volt meters that required AC power. vintage very collectible great display piece sold as is not working. I did not plug it in and am not going to with the power cord in the shape it is. I have no way to test it. And I don't know anything about vacuum tubes whether they are in good condition or not. I looked at them. They don't seem to be broken but I'm not guaranteeing vacuum tubes in any way. All knobs and switches move and spin as they should.
