I've used this amp for a few years with my classical guitar mated to an Ultrasound DI-Plus and a separate preamp for weddings and gigs. As a classical musician. This was perfect. Not too heavy, portable, and the sound quality was great. Selling item as-is, but is working great. I'm no longer in the music industry, so selling my gear. The retail is 160-200(Dean Markley sells it now) but mine was before that vendor occurred. Winner cana pick up from SF Bay area or have it shipped. Winner pays for shipping and boxing. The only minor defect is the plastic clip that holds the tilt back stand in place is broke. Kids 30' Black Electric Guitar With Amp Picks And Case
Up for sale is a 30' child's electric guitar with an amp. Case, and 3 picks. This is all in great condition and every thing works as it should. I bought this last year for my son as a christmas gift and he only played it a few times around the house. The guitar strings are all good and the tuner knobs work great. The amp is actually surprisingly loud as I was just testing it an all the knobs on it work as they should. And the case has a strap and compartment to store the guitar and picks. Upon really close examination the guitar has little scratches but that is because of the plastic used not because it was poorly taken care of. Made in England, 105-240 volts(will have to be wired by a technician for selected voltages) 8+16 ohm taps, 4 EL84 power tubes, 5 12AX7 preamp/driver tubes, Celestion G-12K-85 12" speaker, switches for mains, standby, controls for Reverb(not working) Master Volume, Presence, Middle, Treble, Bass, Volume, one input. Back panel has 8 or 16 ohm output switch, 2 speaker output jacks, Slave, Return/Send, IEC power cord. I bought this amp from the original owner who is very well respected in the area, very active musician. Due to arthritis, he was forced to sell his equipment and stated that this Hiwatt was the best sounding and his favorite amp in his career. This is an all tube amp, excellent tube compliment, powerful and loud 30 watt amplifier with excellent tone and excellent sustain, touch sensitivity, ... moregain presence, natural tube overdrive with that excellent British EL84 sound. This amp is loud and has excellent tone and versatility. I did look this amp up online, it is very very rare. The head is highly review and the combo was a very limited production amplifier. The reverb was working at his house, but does not work now-not sure what has happened. I did make sure the tubes were good and a good tight fit in the sockets. This amp is heavy, nearly 50 lbs and is well built with a heavy cabinet. It measures 21x12x20. I am 60 and have had lots and lots of tube amps, vintage and otherwise. This amp is very very impressive and I can see why it was the owners favorite amp during his career on the road. It has a matched quartet of Sovtek EL84 tubes, all vintage Sylvania/Baldwin 12AX7 tubes from the 1960s. It has some nicks, scuffs, some tolex missing, some very small marks around the controls for his favorite settings(which are by the way spot on) This amp is a screamer with excellent and natural tube overdrive/sustain and musicality, impressive. SELMER ZODIAC TWIN 30 AMP - PERFECT WORKING ORDER
If you are looking at this listing you probably know more about this amp than I do and since these amps have such a strong reputation and following I am not going to say much in about the specific model in my description. I have owned the amp for nearly 15 years. I took it in on trade back then. And it never worked. I recently had it serviced by Andy Fuchs at FUCHS AUDIO TECHNOLOGY and now it works perfectly with no issues. The croc covering is discolored in a couple places and has some cigarette burns(discoloration. Not all the way through- the covering is in tact everywhere on the amp- top, bottom and side strips) The grillcloth is original but has a few tears as can be seen in the pics. The original leather handles look very used but they have held up nicely. I'm not sure if the castors are original but they are rusted and could be. ... moreThe two speakers are the original Goodmans- one was sent out to be reconed while in the shop at Fuchs) The"Magic Eye" works perfectly(it blinks in time with the tremelo) This amp has its own unique sound, but is closer to Marshall than Vox or Fender. As you can see from the pics the amp has a new grounded plug but other than that I believe it is all original. This amp runs on 220 volts and you will need a step-up transformer to run it. They can be purchased on the cheap online or at radio shack, but I have a very expensive variable one up for auction cheap on eBay now. This auction is for a 2x12 120 watt guitar amp cabinet loaded with WGS speakers. One is the Veteran 30 which is a clone of a Celestion Vintage 30 only smoother with a less harsh upper mid spike. The other is an ET65 which is a clone of a Celestion G12-65. Both speakers sound great and together really compliment each other covering a wide spectrum and giving a very pleasurable listening experience. For sound bytes visit the WGS website. Warehouse Guitar Speakers. I was told by the previous owner that this cabinet was actually custom made by WGS but I cannot confirm this. I was told it is made of solid birch ply and going on the measurements it is either 3/4 inch or 5/8 inch ply. The cabinet as is weighs in at 50 lbs. It is quite heavy for a 2x12. peavey classic 30 vintage style amp with Celestion Vintage 30 Speaker -
This is a Peavey Classic 30 with a Celestion Vintage 30 professionally installed. It is excellent condition. When I bought it(I am second owner) I was given a footswitch for it. I have not tried it but it appears to be in good condition. I try not to put to much personal opinion like"sounds fantastic" or other hype in my ads. But I think its worth mentioning that these little amps are very impressive. What is really destinctive about them is the overdrive/distortion that you can get from them. This one is no exception. I have played much more expensive amps that don't have the warmth and clarity of the vintage overdriven sound on this amp. If you are looking for a smaller practice amp or something to handle your rock/blues gigs for small venues, this is a great choice for the money. Another plus about this particular amp is ... morethat you can get a nice range of distortion sounds at relatively low volume. Great for playing at home. However-it is capable of high volume. Some careful buyers may ask if the amp is all original(besides the obvious speaker change) I assume it is. But I can't say with 100% certainty. I am not knowledgeable about the specs. The black Tolex is spotless with no tears or scratches, the speaker cloth has no tears or pulls, all the electronics and reverb work perfectly. Made in the USA and recently serviced and modified by Chrome Dome Audio(Sharonville, Ohio) in January of 2013(invoice pictured in ad and will be sent along with the amp) Numerous solder joints were reflowed, the input jack signal path was corrected and 4 new JJ EL84 power tubes were installed in place of the stock EL84s. AC30 sound in an affordable US-made amp? Yes! This sweet Randall RT-30!
If you're looking for real AC-30 sound in an American-made amp. You don't have a lot of options for less than $1,000. In fact, this Randall RT-30 is one of the few American-made AC-30-type amps that really delivers the goods. It's a 2x12 powerhouse(with the Randall vintage speakers) that basically goes from loud to louder, but delivers that elusive British sparkle along the way. This is the second one I've owned and I've loved them both; however, they tend to devour acoustic guitars in praise bands, so it has to go. Like many of these amps. This one is missing the footswitch. I've found that standard A/B footswitches do the job just fine. Otherwise, it's extremely clean, with no rips or tears or scratchy pots. Here's a refurbished and modified Bogen MX30 P.A. amp that has had the full JiveBomber treatment. Critical capacitors and resistors have been upgraded; a superb pair of RCA Blackplate/ Black base 6L6GC power tubes selected. And some modifications performed to provide a second channel of high gain characteristics. One channel is quite mild, the other WILD- Marshallish tone. The original amp was one of Bogen's best and most industrial designs: everything on the amplifier is professional grade. It's a full 30 watts or more. With a very robust construction that was built to last. We've provided one input channel that is mild enough for harp amplification, and one triode-cascaded channel that will get as overdriven as you can stand. Most of the mods were performed by Mike Sabatini. Of MGS Sound Tech in Oregon. Mike has an E.E. ... moredegree, and specializes in tube audio construction and restoration. His shop sticker is fixed to the back of the amp to denote a quality job. This Bogen design used 5 12AX7s in the preamp and phase inverter stages. A 5AR4 full-wave rectifier(Sylvania) and the pair of N.O.S. RCA blackplate 6L6 power tubes. The back is marked 30 watts output, but judging from the size of the power transformer and the sound, it's louder than that. There is provision for speaker output loads of 4, 8, and 16 ohms, selectable by moving a single exposed wire. On the front, there are two 1/4" inputs for guitar: one quite mild, and the other very high gain, but controllable by two gain pots(Mic 3 and 4) The standard cabinet output on the back is also 1/4" Controls on the front are Mic/Gain 1, Mic/Gain 2, Mic 3 and 4(which operate in series) Master Volume, Bass, and Treble. The power switch is integral to the Master control. All the controls have been cleaned and lubed. Power cord was replaced with a modern grounded unit for safety and quiet operation.
