Sano 250R Amp - RARE Vintage Tube Amplifier
Up for sale is what I believe to be a*near mint* early 1970s Sano 250R guitar amplifier. Sano amps are a rare breed indeed- manufactured in New Jersey. USA in the 60s, 70s and 80s. Real all about them here: myrareguitars.com/sano-amplifiers-ampeg-reverberocket-amp) They are extremely well made and well built; a point-to-point wired amplifier that would rival any boutique amp at a fraction of the cost. As you can see from the schematic photo(which I will include with the amp) it runs at about 30 watts via a couple of 7591 power tubes- which, thankfully, now are being made and easy to find. It has two sweet sounding Alnico Eminence 12" speakers with Reverb and Tremolo(original footswitch is included) I have to say, though it may be tough to tell in my photos, this amp is in amazing condition for its age. The tolex is practically mint and ... morelooks very new- although it's possible it's been restored, I was told by the previous owner that everything except for maybe the 3-prong power cord, is all original. The amp was interesting non invasive"mod" someone attached a small plastic fan that blows air onto the tubes when the amp is on. The fan is extremely quiet(I've recorded with this amp without issue) But I'm sure, if you wanted to, it could be detached and removed easily. Many people have compared Sano amps to vintage Ampegs. This one is essentially a vintage*2x12* Reverbrocket- without the high cost. Some people even have said Sano was a spinoff of Ampeg. While there may have been a loose association and similar history, they most likely were independent companies. Regardless, this is an extremely well built amp in fantastic working and cosmetic condition. It has a glassy, punchy sound that reminds me of Hiwatt-meets-Vox-meets-brownface Fender. Hello This auction is for a very special. Very rare Fender Tube Amp. The cosmetics are beautiful drip-edge silverface with blue lined grill cloth and blacklined face. The electronics are original blackface true Twin Rev circuit and sounds excellent. Glassy, sparkly Fender clean tone. It is a 1967 first year silverface Twin Reverb Amp. This means it is the original blackface circuit with the first year drip-edge silverface with blackline aesthetics. It is in beautiful condition as can be seen in the photos. It sounds phenomenal and appears to be all original with the exception of an added master volume control. The control is very transparent so when the master volume knob is turned to 10 it is as if it wasn't there at all and you get the natural true sound of the 1967 original Twin Reverb circuit. It's done in a way that just creates a natural volume control before sending audio to the speakers so it doesn't steal the amplifiers actual tone. It's nice for using this amplifier in settings that ask for a lower output like apartments etc. Or you can set it to 10 and it sets the amp to its original stock mode. This mod was done by the original owner. I think it is nice and have never had a problem with the amp. The amp has the original 60's era Jensen speakers specially designed for Fender. They are in fantastic shape and sound like a true nice pair of vintage Jensens. Original speaker wiring harness. has never been messed with. Beautiful tone. Original, wonderful deep reverb tank. The original tube chart is still on the inside of the amp. Now the tubes. Another one in the fixer pile I won't get to soon. It is super fiddly to pull the pcb out due to the style its made in. And I need to do that to replace the two broken off pots, going to put that off indefinitely so it gets a chance to go to someone with less distractions. The valves it came with were half shot, it turns on and makes sound with kt88 I had about, but they draw a little more heater current than the 6550 it came with, so didn't run those for long, just checked it had voltages and output, so the transformers are good. So either a restoration project or can use the transformers and chassis for something else, 150w from a quad of 6550 is pretty massive overkill and the ton of knobs and drive options say this is a guitar amp, so not sure it would suit me as is anyway. Vintage Model 1481 Silvertone Tube Amp From The Late 50's Early 60's! LOOK!!
Up for bid is a vintage Silvertone tube amp in good shape for its age. The pictures speak for themselves as to the cosmetic condition. I did recently replace a tube in the amp and it has worked fine since then. I've had it on a few times for a couple of hours at a time with no problem. I used a Holy Grail reverb pedal with the amp and the unit sounded sweet! I think from 1974, explaining the use and function of all the knobs and features of their amps of the time, including the Series Sixty-Five and Series One-Thirty lines. And you can’t help but be bemused by the charmingly out-of-touch cover art. The Vietnam War was still raging, punk was only a couple of years away, and they’ve got a painting of a rock band playing in a bunting-draped gazebo on the beach, playing to an audience of rosy-cheeked kids in straw hats and jaunty 1930s’ bathing togs. You are bidding on a 15 watt 1947 RCA MI-12156 vintage tube amplifier. Plug and play ready! This amp has been completely restored and turned into the classic Tweed Fender Twin 5C8 circuit with a couple of mods. Here's what was done: Channel 1 is the 5C8 circuit with the bonus of a choke in filter section. Channel 2 is the preamp circuit from the 5C3 Deluxe. Phono volume is now master volume. Switchable input- 1/4" jack or XLR with input transformer MI-12399. Single input for both channels. Speaker output taps are 4. 8 or 16 ohms. Outlet on back is now standby switch. All pots cleaned. 3 prong power cord added for safety. Fender Pro Jr. EL84 tube amp with slip cover! Junior, amplifier
Used Fender Pro Jr. tube amp. Circa 2005. Excellent shape with a couple of tiny cosmetic issues. One small snag on the grille cloth, and one tiny scrape on the tolex, and I mean tiny, like 1/4 inch, near the upper RH corner, but its just on the surface of the tolex and all you see is black, no white wood or torn cloth(please see photos above) Plus, some minor rust specks on the handle brackets. Uses two 6BQ5- EL84 power tubes and two 12AX7- ECC83 preamp tubes. I just purchased a Fender slip cover for it, and I just got that in the mail yesterday, so the cover is brand new. Sounds great. Has slight hum at idle like they all do, but there are mod kits available to remedy that if desired. This amp is all original, except for tubes. Only one Fender branded 12AX7 remains. Up for sale. A 1964 Fender Tremolux head and matching 2x10 speaker cabinet in exceptional condition and in perfect working order. This pre-CBS Blackface amp features NOS General Electric 6L6 power tubes, RCA preamp tubes and has just been professionally serviced with a fresh set of Sprauge Atom filter caps. The amp is stunningly clean inside and out and the chassis code, pot codes and tube chart all date the amp to 1964, the first year for Blackface Fender amps and the only year these amps were available before the company was purchased by CBS! Delivering the classic Fender clean tone in a nice compact and lightweight"piggyback" package, this amp delivers crystalline clean tones with light compression and smooth overdrive. The head and cabinet both have original black tolex and silver sparkle grill cloth which has aged and darkened ... moreover the years. The speakers in the cab are to spec Jensen C10R's from 1969 with very clean original cones and Jensen labels. The hardware and logos are also completely original although the tilt back legs are no longer on the cab. Under the hood. The amp is remarkably clean and all of the original and highly desirable blue tone caps are intact. The output transformer and choke are original with 1964 date stamps, while the power transformer is a direct replacement from another 1967 Blackface Tremolux. Cosmetically. The amp shows a few small scuffs and nicks from the past 50 years, but overall the amp is very clean and original. A classic example of a first year blackface Tremolux with the original 2x10 cab! Marshall JCM-2000 TSL 100w tube amp head
This amp sounds amazing! Nothing beats the all tube power and tone that you get from a Marshall. I've honestly never taken this past the halfway mark for volume. It's extremely loud and I never picked up the right cab to properly harness the higher wattage. As far as I can tell the tubes are in great shape. But I have no idea how old they are. I got it off ebay a couple months ago, but it looks and sounds new. The JCM line was one of their best. The TSL beats the DSL models in tone versatility. I mostly play punk, hardcore and a bit of thrash metal and I feel like there is no need for pedals with this amp. The clean sounds great too! Unfortunately I do not have a footswitch.
