Ultra Rare!!! One of a Kind Petrified Wood with screws!!!
This is a piece of petrified wood that was found in south Texas. It is believed to come from a ranch somewhere in Texas but may not be from the area. It was found alongside many other pieces that are just as interesting. It is 8 1/2 long x 4 1/2 wide x 2 1/2 inches thick. What makes this piece unique is that it has four screws in it along with three white paint marks. It is also obviously a worked piece of wood. I have done research on this and I have seen only one other piece like this and none ever for sale. I am not sure if this is millions or hundreds of years old because it has not been sent to a lab. RARE! 1800's Large Pine Wing Chair Wood Screws SOLID, Hand-Tied Springs--COOL!
Wow! This is an extremely rare piece of historical furniture. It's a large pine wing chair with the original finish. Wood screws, some original fabric, and hand tied springs. I was offered $800 for it 6 years ago and it is a functioning piece of furniture in my vacation cabin. This is the most interesting piece of furniture I have because I cannot find out anything about it-years of research has produced not even one other chair that is similar. Looks to be something made in the West in the mid-1800s, but I could be wrong. It's solid as a rock! Someone many years ago reupholstered it with this cheesy yellow flower print. Later someone else tore that fabric off just the back and what was under is the original fabric still there. I decided to unzip the cushion and inside I found the original cushion too and it's still there. I tried ... moreto show it in pictures. There are some tears in the chair back(shown) and other than typical wear, it's in really nice condition. But it has not been cleaned ever since I've I had it trying to decide what to do with it! I checked on renovating it but that would have cost around what it's worth at $800, so we opted to leave it as is and have been really happy with it. It measures 46" high and 29" across the widest part of the chair. The wings are 11" deep. All my items are sold as is. Please ask questions. Up for bids with no reserve is a very nice Hillman hardware metal cabinet 6 bin retail store display from a local hardware store that closed it's doors. It is stocked with#8 and#10 round head zinc plated wood screws.
