ON ONE SIDE ARE THREE BIRDS WITH BLUE BEADS ON THE TOP AND SIDES ON THE OTHER SIDE THERE IS AN ANCHOR AT EACH END. FROM NIAGARA FALLS IS IN THE CENTER THE BLUE BEADS ON THE TOP AND SIDES EXTEND FROM THEJK OTHER SIDE. THE EDGEWORK IS CLEAR BEADS AND AT THE BOTTOM THERE ARE 6 HANGING RINGS OF BEADS. 3 19th Century Cast Iron Stars Masonry Anchors Architectural Wall Washers Plates
These 3 old masonry anchors were used in the late 1800s along with reinforcement bars to strengthen and secure walls in buildings. These 3 are in the shape of stars. You may have seen these in older buildings. Sometimes they are letter"S"s. Rosettes, letter"T"s, or just square plates. These were often used in older California earthquake areas. The only way you can get one of these is when a building is torn down, and most of the buildings that have them are Historical and protected, so they are rare. These stars are in two sizes the larger is 8 1/2 inches wide, and the smaller two are 4 1/2 inches. The two smaller stars are flat on the back, and marked, faintly, MEXICO. I'm not sure if that is the country or a foundry name. These smaller stars were cast, many in a row and have small tabs where they were separated. ... moreThe larger star is not marked, that I can see, and is indented on the back. These 3 stars are rusty, but not deteriorated. They don't look like they were ever painted, and were probably used on a brick wall. The larger star does have a paint drop that I did not try to remove. I've seen these stars reproduced in tin and used for decorating, but these are the original, real thing.

I believe they may have been black originally but someone painted them red. Above photo shows how the"wings" of the anchor extend slightly(about 1/2 inch) to create a hook.
