It's very nicely made of teak wood with a long peg handle in the center and a chamfered edge on the underside. It spins smoothly on the base and is marked as shown. It is in very good used condition with no chips or cracks. A wonderful patina and some minor staining and soilng that could use a light cleaning- I haven't cleaned it, leaving that choice to the buyer. It's quite large, measuring 17" in diameter and 7-1/2" tall at the handle and 1-7/8" tall at the tray. This is a n antique dated 907 silver plate presentation cupid handled grape design bowl made by Victor Silver Company. The bowl to the top of the handle stands 5" tall by 5 1/8" wide and is in good condition. On the top of the handle are two cupids. The rim edge of the bowl is decorated in a grape design. The interior bottom of the bowl is engraved. Deborah Lodge No. 2 I.O.B.A. Organized July 10, 1887 Souvenir of the 20th Anniversary December 29, 1907" The bottom side of the bowl is marked, but all I can make out is Victor. Vintage, Antique? Art Deco Chrome Cocktail Shaker, W/Red Bakelite? Handle
I personally saw this being pulled from boxes in storage since the early 1960's. Never being disturbed. The daughter said her mother stored"everything" She's a neighbor in her late 60's. This came from a private home and is fresh to the market and hasn't seen the light of day in over 50 years. The box this came out of was tightly packed with items wrapped in newspapers all dating 1962 and only unwrapped days ago. I don't know how much older than that this shaker really is. I see only a few minimal surface scratches to the chrome. The chrome shines very brightly and has no blemishes or dullness. This has no dents. Dings, or distortions. The owner didn't think that this has ever been used and it doesn't look as though it has been used. The exterior of the shaker has an art deco( skyline impressed and embossed ... morepattern on it. The cherry red bakelite( handle shows no signs of use. No surface scratches, chips, scuffs, cracks, dulling, etc. It is shiney and crystal clear. I see no makers marks on this shaker. The beaded knob on the spout screws off easily and turns on to seal nicely. I believe this cocktail/martini shaker to be in extremely nice condition. An excellent find! The interior in extremely clean. This can be used or displayed as it is. This measures 13" tall. 8" handle to spout, and 4 18" in diameter at it's base. Weighs almost 1 1/2 pounds on its own.
