Vintage antique flashlight Diamond paperboard body
The body seems to be a paperboard almost plastic substance. But it's not metal. Lens is very thick. Only marking I could find is the large diamond on the end. In good condition, has a few cracks in the body(picture 6) and the top cap has been cross threaded. Measures 7" long. I try to find any defects but I can't guarentee I'll see them all. No returns unless item is not as described. This is an older piece and therefor is no longer perfect as the day it was made. Insurance and delivery confirmation will be added to the cost of shipping. I purchased this at an estate sale. And I know little about these things. It's an old heavy paperboard advertising piece that was probably from an old Book or General Store or something like that. It's a advertising for a book or movie(book, I believe) by Edwin C. Hill, The Iron Horse" Checking this on the Net, I found that this book came out in 1924( I don't know if this ad poster is from then or not) It's yellowed a bit from age, has a few tears, and a couple of corners off of it, but it's still very nice. But don't hold me to that. Look at the photos in reference to the HO Slot Cars I photograph with it- platform measures 18" x 7" each bay is 3 3/8" wide 6 1/2 deep" I also believe 1/43 scale cars would fit. But there would not be much room for additional items, IE Auto Equipment, people, etc. The flags on the top are easily removable. And are not in the greatest shape. The building is built solid. But could use some TLC. Pair of vintage/antique angels/tree toppers. Each angel measures 13" from remaining tips of wings to bottom of the skirt. and 8" across the arms. From hand to hand. They have wax faces and hands. Silver hair, and are made of heavy silver brocade paperboard. The wax faces are flattened somewhat(see photos) The hands are intact. Except one hand without any wax left over the frame on the angel with no candles. One angel has unused. Original candles, and the other is missing her candles. Vintage Coca-Cola Carrier Original Paperboard Carrier 1940 Collapsible Design
1940 original Coca Cola six pack carrier. Patents describe this design as a"collapsible or knockdown type which is adapted for the packaging and holding of a plurality of bottles" This was from the Morris paper Mill in Chicago. Illinois. The carrier is about 8.5" tall with the extended wire carrier handle, and 7" across the front. There are some parts that are torn, but it is a great example of an early paperboard carrier and makes a nice addition to a Coca Cola collection. This piece is sold"as is" since it is vintage. Vintage 1944 Paperboard Classical Composer Calendar from Boston Music Co
This heavy paperboard calendar is in pretty good condition for its age. It belonged to the Mother of a friend. And she was a music teacher in California and taught for years. The calendar measures 10 1/2 inches wide by 9 inches high. The edges are a little scuffed, there are a couple of pages that the top layer of paper has scuffed off along the edges, there is some pencil writing on 2 pages and there is a tear on 1 page but it does not go all the way through the paperboard. I have tried to photograph any imperfections so look closely at the pictures. Antique Victorian Era Pressed Paperboard Picture Photograph Frame This old beauty came with the lot of old tintypes that I purchased and just listed- none of them were inside of it. There is sat all by itself. And it's just so pretty! What I have is an antique, Victorian era pressed paper board photo frame. I don't know if this was part of an album, or maybe had a light easel(like a wire one) at one point in time, but what's left of it now is the best part- the frame itself, nothing else. It's made from a light, pressed paper board that is not pliable(unless you force it- then it would move) that is brown, with lovely high relief detailing on the front. On the back, you can see faded rose colored paper shreds and pieces- as if it had covered the back at one point in time and is mostly no longer there. You can see a little ... moresheen to the brown finish at the back- where it dripped back there from the front- it's shiny at the back, but no longer at the front. You can also see what looks like a nail hole at the very top- see photo 4. I'm guessing someone had this one on the wall. Other than that, it's really in excellent solid and sturdy condition, especially for being over 100 years old. There are some very teenie spots of wear to the brown finish, and it could use a little dusting/wipe off- I have not cleaned it in any way, it's as found. The outside of the frame measures 4 3/4" wide by 6 3/4" tall and the inside opening is 2 1/4" by 3 1/2" tall. It's light, weighing only a couple of ounces. Prettyprettypretty! One can only imagine how many wonderful paper and paper-like items have been discarded out of a failure to be educated on the value of things considered ephemera. This CHAIR SEAT REPLACEMENT ISN'T A BOOK. MAP OR PLAYBILL from a Tony Award Play, but it's made of pressed paper and since we don't find a"ton" of them lying around, there's no other conclusion that they were considered disposable. even the unused ones. To be perfectly honest, I don't recall seeing these in my own experience. It was ingenious if you think about it; investment in furniture and other household goods was such that if ways to extend the life of existing items could found, it was excellent. ... moreThis was perfect for the common working class household. Looking at the shape of the item, you can see that the shape copies that of the center of a chair seat. If you see the photos of the seat back, you can read, IMPORTANT Tacks Placed 1 1/2 Inches Apart Will Double Life of Seat. Charming. Also on the back, and shown in a photo, is the number"12" and an old timey price sticker(white with red border. Measurements: 12" x 11 1/2" at widest points. It's approx 1/8" thick. The impressed center design is 8" in diameter. The regal male lion's head wreathed in laurel leaves is so typical of the American Empire style, also called Federal. CONDITION: there are no significant condition issues, no bends, breaks or cracking. There are a few spots where the black surface is scuffed, this be re-colored or restored without much trouble. The Empire style is a French Inspired Neoclassical classification that was primarily seen in the early 19th century but became a style rather than a trend. Vintage AMOCO gas station sign advertising paperboard NO LEAD FOULING
This is one of three Vintage AMOCO gas station advertizing signs I am listing. They are lithograph on paperboard and measure 16" x 7 1/4. They date from the thirties or forties. Check photo for condition. Noting they were used back in the day and have been stored. Unless noted they have typical wear including creases rounded corners and surface grime. But overall they are nice, bright& unfaded with bold clear vintage colors. I couldn't find any similar signs online& imagine not many have survived- they were likely cycled thru by the filling stations and thrown out when new ones arrived. VTG HALLMARK PAPERBOARD CHRISTMAS COOKIE TRAY WESTERN GERMANY MID CENTURY ANGELS
This is a vintage Hallmark cardboard serving tray made in Western Germany. I would judge it to be mid century. The front depicts angels playing musical instruments& a small Christmas tree& a star. The back is printed to look like woodgrain. Please see the enlarged photos showing the Hallmark name& the"printed in Western Germany" marks. Approximate measurement is 12" diameter x 2" deep. There is a small tear within the fluted rim. And an age separation of the cardboard plys also within the fluted edge that has caused a small backing piece to chip off. I would think these could easily be repaired with some clear glue& clamped with a clothespin to dry. I will leave that to the buyer as some like the authentic aged look(the"chip will be sent along in baggie) All in all it is still a nice, fun piece.
