The photos don't show this very well. Sorry. The paddle has a broken end, see photo. I tested this mixer very briefly without anything in the bowl. The motor runs on all speeds. However. It makes some clacking/grinding noises at low speeds, and it has a sort of"electric motor" smell after it runs for a while.
