The mixer was bought as a back up for use in a local school cafeteria. It was used less than 10 times as per school personnel as they had other Hobart mixers that were serviced regularly and was hardly ever down. I had no reason to doubt that after looking and inspecting the mixer. The school change to a new location for a new school and they had to replace with brand new equipment. Sounds like a waste of $$$$ to me but their loss is your gain) The only cosmetic issues the mixer had were the top cover was cracked and there were a few transport scratches on the base. It ... moretook me a total of 2 minutes to wipe off any dust or spots on the mixer and now it is(as it was) incredibly clean. I pulled of the stainless steel bowl panel to clean and there was not even a spec of dirt or dough build up noted. In fact it appears brand spanking new as if it was never removed. I had the mixer inspected/serviced by a Hobart technician and the only problems they found were that the safety sensors were not working properly. To bring this mixer back to factory like new condition I replaced the top cover($414.00) The bowl lever sensor and bowl guard sensor with thorough evaluation of the mixer($279.23) This was done last week(10/13/2014) I can provide receipts of both if necessary. The attachments are all OEM with the name HOBART on them and appears brand new as well. The dough hook has no scratches or evidence of use. The beater/paddle appears new as well. The whisk does have a few scratches on the inside where it attaches to the mixer. If it is used then it could not have been used much. New this mixer with attachments cost $13.000- $16,000.00. It currently has a 100/50 HP main drive motor in 460 volt 3 ph 60 cycles. Is has a hydraulic tilt package for the bowl tilting. The main agitators are three roller bar type with the stretcher bar inside the bowl. The bowl canopy has the flour inlet opening[no slide gate included] with two[2] liquid inlet fittings. The attached Shaffer mixer dimensional chart for the#20 mixer is accurate for this mixer, however the BEW mixer is presently on 10” tall feet instead of the standard 6” tall feet as shown, so ... moredimensions C, D are actually 4” taller than the standard dimension as shown. This mixer came out of a plant that was mixing soft bun and English muffin dough, and is was in solid running condition when we received it. Installed new shaft bearings[2] in the main mixing motor, Installed new main shaft seals on the main agitator shaft, Drained and refilled both the rear-end drive and the hydraulic package with new oil, Re-pinned the right side spider to the main shaft[as it had some play in the pins when we received it] Test ran the machine through the electrical controls.all runs as designed.
