J2957 This is a oak 3 section bookcase with sliding doors circa 1905. It was manufactured by the Danner Company around the turn of the century. John Danner specialized in manufacturing office furniture. It has a extra large and deep lower section that provides 11 inches deep by 22 inches high and 17 inches wide of clearance. The 2 top sections have 9 inches deep of clearance which is standard. All three sections have adjustable shelves. The lower section has a pull out shelf. The bookcase also has a bottom drawer. The top crown section has"egg and dart" trim. The piece has"leaded" glass doors with some beveled pieces. These are really hard to find with all the options on this model. Overall it is 16 inches deep. 37 inches wide across the front, and 85 1/2 inches tall. Own a piece of History HAND WOVEN WOOL BLANKET Circa 1890 Navajo Indian blanket. I don't know a lot about this area of collectables. My Mother and Father collected many American Indian artifacts during the 30's and 40's. Most items have notes in the boxes with them. I try to do some research. He purchased it in Northeast Arizona. It was purchased at a roadside stand near the North entrance to The National Petrified Forest in Arizona. His note comes with the blanket. This blanket design is not symmetrical nor an exact length or width. Measurement is approx. 49" long and 30"32" wide. One end of the blanket has a different pattern ... morethan the other end. an additional straight line about 1/2" wide and the full width of the blanket) If you look at the pictures. You can see where the individual sections of the wool blanket were stiched to each other. These zigzag seams are called"Lazy Lines" All wool is the natual color and not dyed. Even for a Native American like myself. it has been quite challenging to figure out exactly what this rug is. I’ve never seen one quite like it. Nor has anyone else that I have shown the photos too. It is made of bundled grass woven with thin cotton or hemp twine. The borders appear to be machine-stitched linen or cotton. The motif is clearly Southwestern Native American, probably Navajo. It contains both left and right facing swastikas. I’m well aware that the swastika was used in many cultures. From the Indus Valley to China to Europe to Southwestern Native American. Prior to World War II, it was widely regarded as a symbol of good fortune, with its early Sanskrit meaning literally of“to be good. One possibility is that the rug was made by the Deltox Grass Rug Company. Operating in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, from about 1902-1924. Big High-Quality American World War II Navy Style MILITARY TELESCOPE If you need a very high quality. Well-made field telescope for any purpose, you probably couldn’t do better than this wonderful old vintage American military telescope. It is of the type used after the end of World War I through the end of World War II aboard ship and on land by officers of the US Navy and of the US Marine Corps. The telescope is well-described and shown in our photographs of it and as you can see there is nothing missing and the lenses are in fine original condition. The outside of the tube still has more than 95% of its original black wrinkle-finish paint. There are no cracks in the eye piece material. The focussing knob works smoothly through its entire range. Anything viewed through the telescope can be viewed in perfect focus by withdrawing the smaller ... morebrass tube from the main body and adjusting the eye piece for fine focus. Pulling the brass tube all the way out and turning it slightly clock-wise locks it in place. We know almost nothing about telescopes so we won’t be able to answer any technical questions but this one does not seem to have ever been messed with or repaired. We can’t find any manufacturing data. Magnification data or ownership data on the telescope but it is very clearly a telescope of the American military type and very-well made. This is a gorgeous Lenox belleek tankard made circa 1906- 1924. It has a cream colored body with the top being a peachy color. There are bouquets of and single yellow roses highlighted by a beautiful sky blue color. There are hints of greens. Brown and purple within the leaves. It is signed"Bays" to the right of the handle. The top rim and the handle are painted gold. It is marked on the bottom with the Lenox belleek pallet mark(1906-1924) It is also impressed with the number 500. This lovely tankard stands 7.25" high and is 4"+ in diameter at the base. No chips. Cracks, crazing or repairs- in perfect condition.
