For a French Model 1816 or M1822 or possibly American M1840 Wristbreaker calvary sword. I am fairly sure it is French. The Only and easiest way to Match this scabbard to your sword would be to mail me a template or tracing of your sword. This scabbard has a mild curve to it. Email me and I will provide my address. There are differences in blades from manufacturer to manufacturer. It is in very good condition. It is 39 3/8" in overall length. It measures 37 1/4" from the start of the drag to end of collar running along inside curve so it would be for approximately a 35" blade. Leaving a couple inches space for water or moisture collection. It has no dents. There are some faint numbers ... morethat might help ID it. It has a mild curve to it. he first systematic textbook of surgery written in the United States. The Elements of Surgery, was completed in 1813 by John Syng Dorsey, a University of Pennsylvania surgeon. The work thoroughly covered all major clinical areas of surgery of that time in a two-volume, 797-page text. Subsequent editions were published in 1818, 1823, and 1831. It became the standard surgical textbook in this country during that era and was the first American medical text exported abroad for use at the more established European centers of medical education. The reasons for writing the text included a desire to put into print the teachings of Philip Syng Physick(first Chair of the Department of Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania, and Dorsey's uncle) the new American nationalism, and socioeconomic pressures forced on the American publishing industry ... moreby the War of 1812 and preceding trade embargoes. In addition to extensive exposure to Physick, Dorsey was also uniquely qualified to write and illustrate this text, as he exhibited an unusually succinct style and was a remarkable medical artist. In the pics you may notice that the center leg is not in the center of the table. It will move to the center. I didn't want to force it across the uneven ground. Truly Unique& Rare Native American Metal Tray
This auction is for a really special piece I found. I have had little luck in finding out too much. But here is what I've gathered: The pattern indicates probably Native American by the sun and the swastikas that. Prior to WWII were a symbol for peace used by Native Americans. I don't know if it's brass or copper. But I suspect copper because of it's weight(about 3.5 pounds" and because it shines like a penny. Also. The mark in the back seems to be"743" or"943" but no searches I conducted on those marks revealed anything. The tray measures 9" x 14" Postage is always free and I only ship to US addresses. Abingdon Sanitary Manufacturing Company of Abingdon, Illinois(1908 to 1947 with the Briggs Manufacturing Company as its Successor, 1947 to Present) Abingdon Art Pottery Brand or Line(Circa 1933 to 1950) American Art Pottery, Art Deco Era and Style, Commercial Grade Porcelain, Slim Rectangular Contour, Number"494" Vase with an In-Mold Sailing Ship on Water and Rope Side Borders Decorative Pattern which has a Gloss White Glaze Application in"Very Good Plus" Used Condition, Circa 1933 to 1950. This superb"Nautical" themed vase has no chips. Cracks, scratches, scuffs or repairs of any kind. I'm grading it as"Very Good Plus" because it was used so it does have two minor post factory issues which are actually quite common. The first post factory issue ... moreis tiny line"glaze crazing" and then when you view pictures 9, 10 and 11 you can see some rust stains on the bottom base ring. The base ring was left unglazed for the kiln firing process and more than likely when this vase was used it has a live plant or flower arrangement which was grown in potting soil. If there was ever any water overflow while watering the plant minerals from the soil could easily soak into the unglazed pottery causing the rust stains. Anytime you have a ceramic vase with a dry bottom area of any kind it can easily get discolored in someway over the years. Glaze crazing is also common with older pottery and it's caused be hot and cold expansion. After pottery items are completely finished they can still expand and contract due to temperature changes, but the human eye can't see it. In many cases like this vase the expansion and contraction of the clay body is at a different rate of speed from the expanding an contracting of the glaze and this causes glaze crazing. These pieces were commisioned by the Nation Association of Mexican War Veterans to recognize servicemen from the Mexican-American War 1846-1848. WW2 KA BAR knife WWII fighting trench knife USMC dagger american MARINES
WWII antique WW2 original the KABAR" Commando" mk 1 knife- the type made without blade fullers and blued or dark parkerized finish. with the original scabbard- this style was issued early during world war two. a little shorter than the KABAR/ u.s.n. mark 2 this has about a 5" blade- it may have been sharpened a litle.but still looks fine with most of the original finish on the blade it has a hilt/ grip nearly identical to the M3 fighting knife with the stacked leather handles. Marked KA-BAR olean ny on the cross guard the blade shows very little sharpening marks or use about 97% of the finish remains- the handle is excellent over all. this knife look nearly unissued- this style was made before the mark 2/ MK 2 was sanctioned- these are associated with marine corp/ USMC issue- excellent scabbard- with just one tiny cut at the ... moretop.from the sharpblade moving in and out of the sheath,no big deal, these were developed early in World War II. On 9 December 1942. One year after the United States entered World War II, Union Cutlery submitted a Ka-Bar branded knife to the U.S. Marine Corps for issue to fighting personnel. Although the original design failed to meet USMC requirements. The company was able to work with the Marine Corps on improvements. A revised design based on improvements to the Camillus Mark 1 Despite the ownership of the name by Union Cutlery, all knives of this general pattern became known as Ka-Bar knives.
