I have a pair of used Irwin Straight-Line string chalk line reels. Both need some chalk dust and then I have a very nicely homemade Plumb Bob about 6 1/2" long, all 3 items are included in this auction. The black Irwin chalk line is a fast speed retrieve while the aluminum reel is a standard 1:1 ratio retrieve. The Plumb Bob is made from a Brunner& Lay center point chisel. Has about 20' of string on it, very nicely done. I do combine shipping on my auctions if it is physically possible. Handle turns and string reels in and out. Missing original pull and chalk fill plug. This was the improved version of the 1949 Patented STRAIT-LINE Chalk Reel which then required removal of the box holding the chalk to fill. This improvement applied for 1952 was patented 1956 and included a chalk compartment edge access hole and cover. This reel was sold during the Patent application period between 52& 56, making it between 55- 60 years old. I could find nothing about the ones made in Santa Ana. The plumb bob says patent pending. I have no ides as to how old this is.
