This rare ice cream vendor's cart was produced by Acorn Sheet Metal Company of Franklin Park. Illinois. It has been restored, is fully functional& is in great condition! The tricycle has been fully restored and together they are ready to sell some ice cream! Of course. You could choose any number of frozen treats to sell! It has a bar of sweet sounding brass bells to announce your arrival. The inside of the compartments are clean with no rust. There is a heavy metal latch on the top door of the freezer compartment like an ice cream truck would have. It also has a scoop shaped(think old locomotion shaped) compartment in the front with wiring& an electrical switch in it. Lot of 6 Japan vendor-cart license plates A nice group of 6 small Japanese plates for vendor carts registered in Toyama prefecture. Lots of Kanji on each of these plates. Sure to be a conversation piece. Name of municipality is spelled out across the bottom. The smaller plates are for a smaller class of cart than the long rectangle ones. The ones along the bottom are bicycle plates meant to loop around the rear seat-post. The small square plates measuring about 3 x 2" The rectangle ones maybe 4 x 2" All are near mint condition. This item is a officially licensed Coca Cola 1991 replica of the famous 1929"Glascock" ice chest. To my knowledge. This item was only sold at trade shows and in limited quantities. The classic"Glascock" ice chest is described often as"The rarest cooler that you will ever find. It is both highly collectable and sought after. As well as valuable. The ice chest is in great condition. This ice chest has four wheels on the bottom which all work and glide with ease. There is an adjustable wood shelf on one side that props up and is in great condition. The umbrella. Which displays a classic Coca Cola style, opens with no difficulty and has no holes or tears of any kind. The side panels are great and show no cracks, fading, or scratches. The inside is completely intact and can still keep any of your Coca Cola products nice ... moreand cold. Included also are two vintage style Coca Cola bottle racks/boxes(which can be seen on the bottom of the ice chest as pictured above) The ice chest itself was never used as a full-time vendors cart or anything like that. It was only used for special events such as church barbeques and family gatherings. Most of the time it was actually in storage. It should be noted that there are a few minor scuffs and scratches here and there on the top of the ice chest and wood shelf. The brass handles show some aging and discoloration. Courtland tin toy ice cream cart& vendor. Overall it is 6 1/2" long X 4 1/2" to the top of his head. It is in played with condition. It has a good working wind up but the rear wheel seems to stick. The rear wheel does not spin as easily as the front wheels. When you turn the rear wheel by hand the driver moves back& forth& rings the bell as it should. This should be a fairly easy fix. There is some thread strings visible on the bottom of the pants but no tears and the jacket still has the buttons. There is what looks like loose peanuts inside the machine. It is in overall Very Good Shape. There is no rust. The paint is in Good Condition. Some scratching and there is a small dent right rear corner of the cart. Rare Antique French Flower Cart I purchased this amazing cart in St. Petersburg. Florida several years ago. I was told by the previous owner that her father had it flown from Paris while he was in the Air Force back in the 60's. I am thinking the cart is from the late 1800's, however, I am not sure of it's exact age. It does show wear typical of items of it's age and previous function. The wood wheels which are surrounded by metal/iron show a lot of wear and a few of them have been repaired(see photos) The rest of the cart also shows it's age including chips& cracks, the cart leans a little to one side, and there is a repair to one front side bracket area on the top rim of the cart above the front wheel. Early Antique Iron Double Hub Spoked Wheels 40" From Potato Cart Vendor Chicago
Early 1900s Iron Wheels from Potato Vendor Chicago. Illinois A neighbor of mine was an old time truck driver in Chicago and his story was the iron double spoked wheels were off a horse drawn cart used to sell potatoes. I've owned them for about 35+ years as I purchased from his estate when he passed away. These are in good. Solid condition and seem quite different from other iron wheels you see as they have a double hub and alternating spokes on the wheels. These measure almost 40" x 4" wide. Could use a good wire brushing but all in all in great shape for their age. Very heavy so these will not be able to be shipped. Pickup only- no shipping. Byers Choice Carolers - 1999 "Cries of London" Fruit Vendor and Cart
Up for bid is a RETIRED 1999 Byers Choice Caroler from the"Cries of London" series. This gentleman caroler is a Fruit Vendor with a separate wooden Fruit Cart filled with oranges and two varieties of apples. This robust merchant is bundled for the cold with a large black bowler hat and thick wrapped red scarf. His rosy cheeks are offset by the brightly colored orange fruit in his hand. Caroler stands approximately 13" tall and has the original hang tag still attached. He is clean and in excellent condition. The green wooden fruit cart is approximately 8 1/2" long from cart back to end of handles x 5 1/2" tall. Metal wheels and stand finish the cart. Twenty-four pieces of vibrant colored fruit fill the cart interior. Excellent condition. Wonderful attractive piece for your collection. I could not locate a makers mark anywhere and I am unsure of the material the box is made of- possibly plated? The top 3 windows on the outside of the top lid is made of decorative wall paper I believe This piece is most likely from the mid 60's as"Moon River" came out in 1962 I disassembled the top lid to clean the musical mechanism and noticed that this piece features Thornes Movement The bottom base is crushed blue velvet. The interior looks as though it was replaced at some time with wood linoleum material. This lovely French flower vendor is extremely DETAILED. The vendor from Provence is standing beside her wooden cart brimming with flowers to sell. She probably just returned from her fields because she is still holding her black sun hat. It is now time for her to sell her flowers. The flowers in this cart are dried to retain their color. The cart is substantial and well made of wood. It measures 7 ½” wide x 6” high and 4” deep with the handles 3 ¾” Her dress is true Provence. It is made in vibrant colors of red. Yellow, blue, green and white with accents of lace. She is also wearing an apron of tiny red and yellow flowers. This Santon is unique and stands approximately 10.5” tall. The entire Santon with Flower Cart is on a wooden base that measures 11 ¾” wide and 8” deep. 1950'S TIN AND CELLULOID WINDUP ICE CREAM VENDOR CART CAR W DRIVER JAPAN
I'm selling a really nice tin windup ice cream cart made in early fifties Japan. The ice cream vendor is 3/4 inches or almost 10 centimeters long and he stands just about 4 inches or 10 centimeters high. It is complete and all original as far as I can see. The toy is in very good. Lightly played with condition. The celluloid appears to be complete and without any repairs or breaks. The strings holding the arms on are a little loose and the arms tend to come off the handle cars if the toy is turned upside down. The tin vending cart is in good condition. There is some aging to the tin, some overall light staining, especially to the base of the toy. The windup motor works great. The ice cream vendor pedals around in a a very amusing way when he is wound. This is a terrific little tin and celluloid windup.
