Dewalt Demolition Hammer DW25900 Type 2 SDS-Max
This is/was a great demolition hammer. It is about 8 years old. And we are changing over to Bosch tools so we are not going to hang on to this tool anymore. This tool has recently been serviced, and has a new gear housing cover(the yellow plastic bottom near the cord) and new internal lubricants. Last year we replaced the cord, variable speed control, and switch. The speed control is still working, but the switch has given out again. We took out the speed control and tried to hard wire the tool to just be on or off, since we rarely use any speed other than max. It is pictured, and should only need to be reinstalled. The tool was working as of last Friday and hitting hard as ever. It should only need a new switch, because we usually put in new electronics(both the switch and the speed control) when we replaced one or the other. This has been ... morea fantastic tool for our needs. Generally we use this to break up a small section of basement floor with a point and a chisel. Then switch over to a clay spade to dig out piers for steel posts. We have also used it to break up small sections of sidewalk and masonry walls. It is definitely not a breaker hammer since it does not hit hard enough to make breaking up a large area of concrete very quickly. For that, we usually rent a full size breaker. The case is plenty big for the tool and several bits. We had 3 points, 3 chisels, a clay spade, and a bushing tool all in the case with the tool. With just the tool, the case weights about 34 pounds. With all the bits, it came in at about 50. The case is pretty large and measures about 32"x16"x7" It could be locked if you want. We do not paint our tools. So the only marks on the tool are those it received through use. This is being listed for parts or not working since it currently is NOT working. As mentioned before. It should only need a new switch. We purchased a new Bosch demolition hammer so we no longer need this one at all. This DeWalt Demolition Hammer is in excellent condition and works perfectly. There are some signs of usage like a few smudges and scratches. But nothing major or remotely major. You would expect way more wear on a tool used for demolition, but this item shows hardly any usage whatsoever. The power cord has no damages on it at all. There aren't any cracks on the plastic of the DeWalt. The case opens and closes. The latches close the case and keep it closed. Everything works top notch. The two bits that you see pictured are also included. The bits show wear, but will most certainly still do the job.

This is about as big as it gets before going to a light jackhammer. About 22 ft. lbs. energy will bust up plenty of materials. With an 18" bit you can stand this tool up like a small jackhammer. Comes with two 18" and one 12" bits. It's been used to bust up hardpan soil to plant five small redwood trees. My age and back have stopped me from using these heavy type tools. I'm not sure of the weight as it isn't listed in the manual. You won't be lifting it overhead. I'm pretty sure about that. Dewalt has probably changed model numbers but the equivalent would be over $800.
