Rare Larson Stahl Concert Acoustic Guitar No Reserve Vintage Antique
This is a fine early example of a Larson guitar. Circa 1920's. It is a very nice survivor, hard to find in any condition. The guitar has just been gone through by a reknowned New England luthier. He set it up for med. to low action and it sounds absolutely wonderful! see video) Vintage Larsons are famous for their unique rich tone and extra long sustain. Comparable in quality to Martins. There are distinct differences and many guitarists prefer the Larson. Jimi Hendrix owned an early Larson almost identical to this one. Nothing that affects playing quality. These very lightweight guitars were made with a slightly domed top and a deeper body at the bottom than the top, giving it that unique Larson sound. Especially favored by finger pickers in blues and country genres. Work by luthier: fret board leveled. Frets replaced, small open seam closed, bridge reset, action set to medium/low action. Stein is 5 inches tall with an approximate diameter at bottom of almost 3 1/2 inches. Excellent colors and design. Albert Stahl took over the Ernst Bohne Sohne in 1937, but no steins were produced from 1939 to 1990. In the early 90's they apparently began reproducing unnumbered versions of the early Bohne designs with a simpler thumb-lift. This design is listed as one of those reproduced designs, but it is difficult to find. please see pictures. This is the second of the two that I had obtained. Stahl CPMT440V( S60V) Full Tang Klingenlänge/stärke 110mm/3.5mm Gesamtlänge 245mm Die Griffschalen bestehen aus perfekt angepasstem weißem Papiermicarta. Dazu gehört eine sehr gut gemachte Lederscheide in der das Messer sehr gut sitzt. Das Messer ist sehr leicht gebraucht und geschliffen worden. Cudeman MT 5 Outdoor-Messer aus Böhler N695 Stahl, OVP, Kydexscheide
Hier kommt ein Cudeman MT 5 aus Böhler N695 Stahl mit Micarta Griffschalen unter den Hammer. Da sich in den letzten jahren so einiges angesammelt hat. Muss ich nun mal wieder Platz schaffen. Das Messer wurde eher selten genutzt( zwei wöchige Trekking-Tour) und befindet sich in einem guten gebrauchten Zustand und wurde frisch abgezogen. Als Leckerbissen gibt es eine Kydexscheide dazu, diese passt auf das große TEK-LOK, mit der oberen Schraubniete lässt sich der Zugwiederstand einstellen. Die ab Werk mitgelieferte Sattelederscheide ist neu und unbenutzt. Meines Wissen nach gibt es dieses Messer nicht in Deutschland zu kaufen, es war damals ein Geschenk. Die Klinge aus N695 Böhler Stahl ist mit 5 mm Stärke sehr robust. Ein weiterer Vorteil ist die Klingenlänge. Sie beträgt 11cm und fällt somit nichts ... moreunter das Führungsverbot. Auf dem Rücken befindet sich eine große Daumenauflage. Extrem stabil und handlich. Das Messer sitzt passgenau und rutschfest in der Sattellederscheide. Die Scheide kann horizontal oder vertikal am Gürtel befestigt werden. Auch Kopfüber kann man das Messer z.B. an einem Rucksackriemen befestigen. c.1910 Stahl Style 7 made by Larson Brothers
Reluctantly selling my Stahl Style 7 13 3/4" wide guitar in beautiful original condition with pearl trim around top and soundhole and snowflake inlays on headstock and fingerboard. Other early style inlays on ebony fingerboard and clover inlays on original ebony bridge. Bridge had 1/2" crack extending from left side of saddle. Which has been glued and barely visible. It still has its original pearl inlaid ivory bridge pins. Neck has been reset in the past and action and intonation are excellent. The select spruce top and Brazilian Rosewood sides are crack-free and the beautifully figured Brazilian rosewood back has a couple of insignificant 1" cracks with the grain near the bottom. I chose not to do anything about these due to the location of a back brace very close to them, so it's unlikely they will ever get any worse. ... moreThe very light Z style bracing produces a sublime tone- sweet and resonant. I have been using Custom Light steel strings, which sound great. The nut width is 1 7/8" and the frets are in good shape. Thanks to Bob Hartman for help dating it to c. 1910 based upon the early style inlay on the 12th fret. He tells me that Stahls are the rarest of the Larson builds. Measures 21" x 9.5" It was found folded so there are two bends that may flatten out if pressed with a couple of books- see photos. All calendar pages are intact for 1961. The back of each page has a recipe or some other useful info. There are some great 1960's graphics on the back sides. Stahl's was a popular store on Main Street in Plainfield. FR. Stahl Royal Vienna Urns
very early and rare Royal Vienna vase/ urn. It is signed by one of Royal Vienna's most sought after artists Fr. Stahl. This piece is very large at approx. 15" tall x 7 1/2" wide at the handles. The vase is mounted on a very decorative bronze colored metal on top of another marble base. Mounted at the top are handles that go down both sides. The lids for both urns are here as well. The top ring has a little metal loss but not bad. We have dated this piece by the artist signature. Royal Vienna artist Fr. Stahl was painting until the late 1890's so it is probably mid to late 1800's. The porcelain is in very good condition with only minor gilt loss. With a heavy heart I list my Larson Bros. Stahl) mandolin for sale. It's a beautiful instrument and in very good condition. Less than normal wear for its age. Play is excellent with low action. Definitely a player's instrument. Not just a wall ornament. I'm a semi-professional musician needing to downsize my collection. I've decided I prefer the bark of my other mandolin. Since I play mainly bluegrass. This mandolin has a sweet singing tonal quality that is well-suited for Irish Celtic folk music. All original hardware to the best of my knowledge: enclosed tuners. Tailpiece, bridge and nut are in great shape. Embedded original tortoise shell pick guard in great shape. Made in Milwaukee. Wisconsin, estimated around 1910. Comes with professional touring hard shell case in great condition. Not original. Dot inlays along ebony ... morefretboard. Binding is in good shape. Some minor marking/discoloration consistent with the age of the instrument. But nothing structural(see pic) Small cosmetic crack in the fretboard binding at the second fret that does not affect play(see pic) To hear this instrument. Cosmetic Condition: Cool vintage vibe- various nicks. Chips, dents& dings; surface scratches, finish wear& weather checking. The pickguard is missing along with some binding along the first few frets of the neck, bass side. Overall the guitar has a nice look to it with gorgeous patina. Neck: Chunky. V-shape mahogany neck with thick ebony fingerboard& mother of pearl inlays. Frets show some wear, but have plenty of life in them. Slotted headstock with binding. Open-gear tuners with ivoroid buttons in good working condition. 1 15/16" nut width; 25" scale length. Body: Solid spruce top with multiple binding& abalone purfling. Solid Brazilian ... morerosewood back& sides with a slight arch in the back. Ebony bridge has a small crack in the bass side. Maple bridge plate. Bound soundhole with multi-ring rosette. Playability: The neck heel is loose& the neck is at a bad angle. So the action is high. The neck really needs to be professionally reset for the guitar to be in good playing condition.
