The chair is circa 1820 to 1850 and has so much character that one can invent many stories of its previous life. It features beautiful, hand-carved elements with thoughtful details; the outward curving of the arms mirror the curvature of the back rest. The chair is absolutely sublime in its quirkiness; the downward slant of the chair seat appears to be simply from years of repeated use. One could imagine a ship's captain using it as his desk chair and to practice his scrimshaw technique. The chair has patina and a repair and wood split at back of backrest. The dimensions of this Clark Cold Blast smokercan is 8.5 inches high. The bottom of the can is 5 inches in diameter and is a cone shape with the top of the cone 3/4" diameter. The bellows board nearest and attached to the cone are rectangular in shape 5" wide by 8" tall. The back half of the bellows is missing. Used propane pig cooker. Little rough but gets the job done. Selling as is. Drum measures 48"s across and 31"s tall. Old homemade cooker and well used. Works good. Pulls good. Has some issues. Tires show drying on the sides but have good tread and hold air good. Some holes are burned through in the bottom of the drum, see pics. Might want to support the grate if you put anything real heavy on it, cooking grate sags a little. 1 7/8" ball. 5 lug 14"s tires. This old relic was a sure fire means of smoking bees out of their hives so honey collection could begin. The graphic are great and the leather and wood are in fair condition with some surface distress to the wood and a surface tear to the leather at the wide end. Patent number indicates 1930. This auction is for a Steinbach Smoker: Movie Director with Camera" with music box. The Movie Director. Made in West Germany, has been stored for years in a smoke free home. If unfamiliar with smokers: they burn incense cones. Smokers come in two parts so the cone can be inserted inside the lower section. The Movie Director is in excellent condition with the music box in working order. If you look at the photo closely you will see a string in the camera box with a round ball on each end: the string can be pulled back and forth to activate the music box. The name of the song is on the bottom: it is in German and I am not familiar with it. The Photographer has his original Steinbach hang tag. No Box. Rare 1922- Lenci Chinese Opium Smoker w/Pipe Felt Doll-Very rare to find the pipe that goes with doll. Description: EXTREMELY RARE Lenci doll depicting a Chinaman Opium Smoker with Pipe. This doll is also referred as the Trademark Model because he was one of the two dolls shown in the 1922 and 1923 Lenci's advertisements in Playthings magazine. All-felt doll depicting a plump-bodied character with short legs. Jointed at shoulders and hips, having swivel head with yellow-tinted complexion, chubby cheeks, high domed forehead, modeled closed eyes with long painted lashes, high shaped brows, round mouth with hole for pipe, stitched ears, black wool wig pulled up tightly from forehead and forming into a long queue at the back. He is dressed in his complete factory original Chinese all-felt outfit with yellow and green jacket, black, yellow ... moreand green cap that is attached, black and orange pants with green and yellow shoes. He is holding on his right hand the original and very hard to find long stem wooden pipe. No Moth holes in clothes.It has small stitching in left shoe at where the sole attached to shoe.
