Huge vintage lot of Reese's Interlocking adjustable stencils. Four sets are brass. I do not know the metal of the other 5 sets. Pictures 3-7 show the brass stencils. Picture#3 shows the boxes and one set without a box. Pictures#4-7 show the four brass sets. Largest to smallest. I am not sure how to measure these but the largest brass set has a 3" plate and the numbers measure 1 1/2" or 1 3/4" can not tell) The next largest brass set, plate is 2 1/2" numbers 1 1/4, next plate measures 2 1/2 long and the numbers measure 1" long, smallest brass set plate measures 2" and the numbers 1/2" Some of the boxes could be mixed up. I did not take out the grey metal letters. They are all just as I found them and have not been cleaned. Estate find. At least 60 letters some red. Gold, blue, etc. There are some tiny ones. But a lot of larger ones. Some are 14 inches tall some 16 inches or so. Assorted letters all over the place. Most have screws on the back side. Where I've been told you can put a piece of cardboard on back as a template then you can line up the screws and put signs up. Or just take screws out. Most of these appear to be of the approximate same vintage(1960s or 70s I'd guess) but a few of them appear to be newer, shinier, slightly different shape, and with a slightly different non-rounded edge profile. All of them are shiny on the front, and have a matte finish on the back sides. They all have plenty of scuffs and normal wear. They have glue residue on the back sides, presumably they were glued to a wall or a sign. The glue appears to be a rubbery silicone, which does scrape off without damaging letter. For most normal uses, I would probably leave the glue alone, they lay flat, and would glue back ... moreup the same way. Description VINTAGE STENCIL SIGN Interesting and unusual vintage 1930s-1940s brass pierced vertical stencil sign measuring 17-3/4" long and 2-1/2" wide. Featuring all the letters of the alphabet from A to Z including the ampersand. Sign is made of pliable brass with a mounting hole on the top. The color is a tan with darker brown staining on some of the edges to simulate age. Don't be taken in by sellers that are claimimg these letter to be old or antique.
