Up for auction is a vintage 1968. Ludwig, oyster black pearl bass drum. Measures 22" x 14" Serial number 634709.Wrap is in good condition. Have front hoop, but no front head or t-rods for front lugs. No tom mount hardware. Not sure if extra holes have been drilled, but I tried to take photos of the holdes. There is black paint overspray on inside of the shell. VERY RARE! 1970s Vintage Ludwig 22" x 14" Red Silk Bass Drum
RARE Vintage 1970s Ludwig Red Silk Bass Drum PLEASE NOTE: While returns are accepted. Seven days is sufficient, so please understand this before bidding- Thank you) You are looking at a pretty rare blue and olive badge 1970s vintage Ludwig red silk 22" x 14" bass. Someone replaced the original rail mount tom tom holder with a P-1610 mount so there are four carriage bolts where the rail mount used to be. The red silk wrap on this unit is fairly tight except it is lifting a bit at the seams(please see pics) but this is not a big deal as it could be easily glued and clamped in place. The shell ... moreis three-ply maple with re-rings. Which is highly desirable. The hoops on this drum are original. Still have the red silk inlay, but are a bit chewed up by the claws and slightly warped from having been mounted on an old epoxy hoop Evans hydraulic head. I think they may straighten out in time now that they are mounted on an aluminum rim Remo head. They still work OK and have been repainted so they look OK(see pics please) This drum has Remo Renaissance Ambassador drum heads on the front and back. These heads are new and are also kind of rare. The chrome is in fairly good condition however there are some scuffs. Scratches, and mild pitting here and there. This set was part of the stock at m y family music store in Providence. RI(my grandfather started Twin City Music- same family since 1932! and because we have recently closed the business(cannot compete with the big"box" stores) we are liquidating our entire leftover stock and fixtures. Vintage Tama Superstar in candy apple red. The same era that Neil Peart used. It has nicks and dings like most all Superstars of this vintage but from a a distance it looks great. Sound-wise, it's a killer. Here's the specs: 12, 13 toms- cut down to normal size, a few dings in the finish. 14 tom- originally a mounted tom. It still has the holes from the mount and I still have the original mount. It's currently mounted with DSS floor tom system. Comes with a cheapo case. 16- pretty much stock. Has three original legs. Slingerland Tour Series 8/10/12/14/22/matching snare Drum Set WMP King
Hi. This auction is for a sweet Slingerland'Tour Series' drum set. This set is in great condition. There are very few scratches on the drums, and the finish is in excellent shape. Having been stored in the southeast, there's a bit of wear and corrosion on some of the hardware, but nothing too bad and it looks like a little elbow grease could take care of that. Overall the drums are in excellent condition! The heads appear to be the original heads. The tom heads have some tape on them. I tried to remove a few pieces of it and some of the tape residue stuck to the heads, so it may be time for new heads on the toms. Sizes are 20x22' bass drum(depth x width) 8x8 rack tom, 8x10 rack tom, 10x12 rack tom, 14x14 floor tom, and a matching 14' snare. You can take a shot at dating it from the label. But what I've read says a 5 digitl S/N for this model is about mid- 60's? 6-ply jasper shell is in round and the edges are good. I harvested the wrap for another project- it appears to have extra holes beyond what was needed for a rail mount. And multiple top vents? The tops of the teeth are not rounded and have plenty of wear left. This probably dates from the late 70's when OLD's changed to 126mm but before French manufacturers stopped using French threading.
