BRITISH WW1 DATED 1916 VICKERS MACHINE GUN CLINOMETER AND LEATHER CASE
An excellent example of a British WW1 Vickers Machine Gun Clinometer. This one looks to be completely unissued and retains all of its original green paint finish. It is dated to 1916 and maker marked. The clinometer was used for sighting long range fire or a fixed line of fire for a Vickers.303 inch machine gun. The top of the clinometer sight contains a spirit level and at each end there is a brass and steel winder that can depress or elevate the clinometer from minus twenty degrees to plus twenty degrees. The brass scale is graded in five degree units. A dove tailed black painted steel base plate has been fitted to allow attachment to a Vickers machine gun.
