One side features imperial measurements to 2 cups and 16 ounces. The opposite side features metric measurements to 1/2 liter and 500 ml. All measurements and logo are in red. This item is good used condition with the exception of some water deposits on the inside. You may be able to clean it. Red paint is in excellent condition. No cracks or chips in the glass. Hocking Depression Glass Green Transparent 2 Cup Measure(please scroll down for photo slideshow) Here's a gorgeous depression-era measuring cup- probably made by Hocking Glass. This transparent green glass measure is about 3-3/4" high. And 5-1/8" across, not including the handle or spout. The spout is below the rim line, which allows a reamer(not included) to be placed on top. The cup is marked with both cups and ounces on one side. The cups are by 1/2 cup to 2 cups; the ounces by 4 ounces to 16 oz. The other side shows cups in 1/3 cup increments to 2 cups. There are no maker's marks. This auction is for a RARE Hand Made. W.M.Carmichael 2 oz SILVERPLATE Liquor Measure. The cup is in Excellent Condition and has the makers mark for William Maurice Carmichael; renown Canadian Silversmith from Vancouver Island Canada. The Hand Made Design measures just over 2 5/8 inches to the top of the handle and 1 7/8 inches across the base and has a weight of 80.1 grams. This is some information I found about Mr. Carmichael: W.M. Carmichael was Victoria-born and educated. The son of a professional engineer and artistic mother who had trained at the Slade School of Fine Art. After a brief practice in civil engineering and service in the First World War, he opened his first workshop behind his parents' home in Oak Bay. The first products were jewellery and electroplated tableware made to Carmichael's own designs. In 1924 a Sheffield-trained ... moresilversmith. No chips or cracks. Crystal clear, no utensil marks on the inside bottom. Very nice. Only a fine thick ring of baseware on the outside of the bottom. See close-up. The cup measures a hair over 4 1/4" tall, and the outside edge top rim diameter is exactly 4.5" so the metal egg beater top would have to fit over 4.5" I don't have this lid. NOVELTY STERLING SILVER GIANT THIMBLE WHISKY CUP BEAKER SPIRIT MEASURE USA 1930
A very unusual sterling silver novelty whisky tumbler/ spirit measure. It is hallmarked STERLING along with the maker’s mark for The Thomae Company. Manufacturers of small and novelty items based in the USA established c1920. I would estimate that it dates to the early 20 th century c1940. It has unusually been designed in the form of a large thimble and ornately engraved with the words'ONLY A THIMBLE FULL' The inside has been gilded(gold on silver) to protect the silver from the alcohol. It is in superb condition being free from dings splits holes and repairs. The gilding is thick and complete. It measures 2 inches(5cms) tall by over 1.75 inches(4.7cms) across the top and weighs 44 grams. A very unusual piece in super condition. Antique 19th century carved wood and riveted wrought iron measure cup
Description: Superb large antique nineteenth-century century carved wood and riveted wrought iron measure with incised line decoration. Wonderful patina. Seems to have considerable age and has seen considerable use. But still intact and sturdy. There's a fine line extending vertically, not a dry crack that's separating; it looks as though it happened when it was still in use and whatever liquid it held swelled the wood a bit and filled it in. Most of my items are vintage or antique and may have normal wear commensurate with age. Use and materials. I will mention any damage or flaws I see.
