PROFESSIONAL Violin Case, Padded VELVET Interior, Chromometer, compartments
This professional grade violin case is well made with a snap and zip shut canvas exterior. Lock, I don't have key, sorry) sturdy feet on two sides to set case, sturdy and secure handles on outside. The canvas exterior has a zippered outside compartment the entire length of the case. It is approximately 31 inches long by 5 1/2 deeep, and 10 inches wide. Inside it is lined in burgandy velvet and has a separate burgandy velvet and cream satin chin cloth. There are compartments. Places for bow, a chronometer(I think that is what it is) and it seems pretty fancy and originally pretty expensive, to me. It has three very sturdy metal loops outside for a carrying strap to attach. I am not a violinist. So I do not know all the particulars, but this appears to have been a top notch case and I believe there is plenty of good use left in it. It is ... moremissing one interior pull knob. And I discovered a tiny tear next to the lock in the wood. That needs re-enforcing, probably. The velvet is in good shape and I believe the case was very well made originally. The legs are 15 3/4" tall; the padded area puffs up a little higher. About 18" by 13 1/2" wide and deep. Amazingly. The fabric on top is not stained or torn. It is dusty down in the buttoned areas. There is one area in the velvet(not sure that is velvet, but it looks like it is) that looks like it was rubbed thin or matted down maybe. That one is in the middle of the top. There is another spot, gunk or something, that you can see in picture# 10. I think that will clean off okay. There are scuffs and shallow scratches in the wood, examples shown in the pictures, but no deep chips. The stool stands firmly, no wobble to it. None of the upholstery tacks are loose. I am offering four tom cases that are padded and lined with velvet. The 12" and 13" cases are Humes and Berg USA-made hard fiber cases. The 14" and 15" are of Canadian manufacture. All the cases are lined in crushed blue synthetic velvet over polyurethane foam which in turn is glued to a Coroplast corrugated plastic backing. All four cases have been sealed inside and out with a minimum of four coats of oil-based polyurethane, and the seams have been sealed with black silicone sealant. The 12" and 13" Humes& Bergs have had the straps replaced with new leather, the 14" and 15" cases are nearly new. Antique Steel Bench This steel bench with velvet cushion dates from around the late 1800's to the early 1900's. The bench is constructed from heavy steel. The steel has been bent. Rolled, twisted and forged to form this very attractive bench. It is bolted and riveted for a solid construction. The sculptured leaf feet have been hand forged. The twisted steel stabilizing bar is bolted to either end for strength. There is some spotting on the velvet seat cushion(see photos) The velvet is tacked to a solid wood base and is removable from the steel frame. This bench is in very good condition for its age. This is a totally awesome velvet opera coat from the 1940's absolutely gorgeous black silk velvet. Gold sequin patterned on the front yoke sequins are all intact. None lose or missing that I can see so 1940's- large shoulder pads extend from top of shoulder seams. Very Joan Crawford-ish long full sleeves gathered at the cuff- see photo fully lined in white quilted satin- see photo. Is actually warm to wear no maker's or size label. But I estimate it to me about a medium, with its' fullness, could probably fit a Small to a Large. I am about a size 8-10& it fits me well it does have a union label.
