Up for auction is a vintage good working condition Powerstat varible speed autotransformer. It is made by the superior electric company in Bristol conn. It is working fine. I tested it on a lathe and a light. It is a model 3pn116B. see picture# 2 for further item specifics) out side of the dirt. Scratches, dents and dings; there is a minor issue with the rubber outer casing of the electric cord. see picture#4) Where the cord enter the housing the cords outer casing is spit. The electric wires are still in good shape, there is no exposed wiring, and there is no shorts. I think this is an easy fix, But I don't think it is a neccesary fix. Cenco? Variac AutoTransformer Variable Power Supply Works
This is a used Cenco Central Scientific Co Variac AutoTransformer Variable Power Supply. I actually do not know if this is indeed made by Cenco as it has no markings or labels but the tag on the cord I can just make out"CEN" and I obtained it with a large lot of mostly Cenco Powerstat transformers. It has a molded grey plastic case that has a few minor scratches. The 3-prong grounded power cord is in great shape. The front has an on-off switch. Variable level control, 3-prong grounded outlet and the fuse. I do not know the what output amperage this is but the fuse that in it is rated at 1 amp. I tested the output voltage levels and it starts at about 15 volts and ranges up to about 117 volts. It has two sections, each one rated at 22 amps/ 3.2 kVA at 120V in and 0-140V out at 50/60hz. Please see the photos for physical condition of this item. This listing is for a Staco Variable Autotransformer or variac; model 3PN1010. The input is 120 volts. And the output is 0- 140 volts. There are two ranges, 0- 120 volts and 0- 140 volts. This item came to me in a large lot of surplus electronics equipment from the state of California. It is in good condition with scuffs and marks showing normal usage. Please check all of the photos. The first photos with the meter connected. Are with the variac in the 0- 120 volt position. If you look at the switch in the first photo with you meter, you can tell it is in the down position, which 0- 120 volts. Then I show a shot of the switch in the up position on 0- 140 volts, and the rest of the shots with the meter are in that range. The variac operated flawlessly during my testing. Don't miss this one.
