NO RESERVE 5 DAY AUCTION! Hi there- What we've got up for grabs today is a Powerstat Variable Auto Transformer(Variac) It's a Type 116B. 1 Phase, 50-60 Hz, input 120V, output 0-140V, 10 amp, 1.4KVA. It was made by the Superior Electric Company of Bristol Connecticut. It has another tag(serial number/asset control number? that says"Nestle's 68031. It also has a sticker by the on/off switch stating that it was manufactured under the following patents, so it might be an earlier 10 amp model. I replaced the fuse, plugged it in and it works! Although it's difficult to capture the differences in lighting with my camera phone, if you look at the light bouncing off the wall you can see that the output has clearly changed. I bought it to work on vacuum tube guitar amps and never got around to doing anything with it. Time to make ... morespace. I've set this up as a 5 day auction. Up for your pleasure is a very nice. General Electric MODEL 9T92Y8 Volt-Pac Single Phase 0-120 Volt 10 Amp. Variable Transformer( Autotransformer) I'm clearing out some shop equipment that we no longer use. We removed this item from our lab bench where it was used for dimming the inspection lighting banks. these transformers do not cause any ac or rf noise like electronic dimmers) It worked great then and it is still in good working order. And I am including all the parts needed to build it back up for use on your own work bench. I have provided lots of pictures so that you can get a good feel for it's condition and the extra parts included. PHYSICAL CONDITION: The unit is very clean as seen in the pictures. The coil and connections are solid and the wiper brush is good. We wired it up after removal and it works properly. The output ... moreis smooth and clean. Also INCLUDED. A good WESTON panel meter Model 1024. 0-150 range. Old but very good meters. Toggle switch MS35059-23 Heavy duty DPDT toggle switch. Heavy duty power cord Panel mounted fuse holder Panel mounted Neon light Power Outlet A dial plate. 0-140 on one side and 0-120 on the other. The dial is worn as shown and is a variac item. not a GE unit. but it worked for us) Knob. The proper one for the shaft. This is a good unit for light dimming. I bought this transformer for an anodizing line that I was installing a few years ago. The prototype line was installed and test run with this transformer but was never put into service. It has less than one hour of use. The input voltage is single phase 220 volts ac and the output voltage is 0 to 60 volts dc. The output voltage is adjusted via push buttons on the front of the unit. It is a continuous duty transformer with a maximum amperage draw of 50 amps. This transformer(Rapid Electric) cost $8.000 new. The shipping cost shown on this listing is not correct.
