Vintage Atlantic Coast Line Railroad ACL Brass & Steel Adlake Lock Padlock
Here is a good looking railroad lock from the Atlantic Coast Line. The body is steel but the shackle is round and made of brass. It is stamped ACL on the back. This lock takes a"lollipop" or straight cut. We have NO KEY. There are links of what must be original chain attached. Beside the keyhole a number 57 is stamped. We belive this is the date 1957. CONDITION is very good with light signs of use. NO metal damage or other problems. There is some light surface rust that wont get any worse. Or it will clean up nicely. The spring working the dust cover is extremely strong. The dust plate resists being pushed to the side and then snaps shut sharply on its own back over the keyhole when released. Vintage used railroad lock and chain. No key. The lock is marked SCLRR; Seaboard Coast Line Railroad. The lock cover is marked Adlake and the reverse has the patent number 2040482; 1936. The lock measures about 3" wide x 2 1/4" with the hasp the lock is about 3 1/2" The chain is about 12 1/2" long. The lock has been lightly cleaned and appears to be in good condition. Has not been tested; no key. I will be listing several additional locks.
