When I first bought it, it went around $200.00 after all expenses paid. 4-String "Wraprite" Glue Binder For Bamboo Rodmaking
The price will go back up at the end of the year! This auction lot contains a rare gem of a tool- if you're a bamboo rodmaker. And especially if you're a bamboo rodmaker with both a sense of history and an appreciation for beautifully crafted, functional tools. We are offering one of the original twelve"Wraprite" 4-string glue binders made by the Deschutes Rod Company in the early 1990's. To the best of our knowledge, only those twelve were made. The photos show one spool of cotton thread mounted on one of four identical spool holders. With four spools in place(you should be able to locate spools at any office supply store) and threaded, as shown in the one close-up photo, the four strings are knotted in the center of the machine where they meet after coming through the tensioning arms. A glue-slathered rod section is ... moreadvanced through the hollow center tube from one side until it intersects the four strings and the operator begins to turn the handle. The handle spins the large central disc which in turn spins the two side discs. Each side disc hold two of the four spools and tensioning arms. The two side discs counter-rotate, applying each of their two strings, four in all, in a criss-crossing pattern which applies the tension of wrapping from alternate directions, thus evening out the pressure and minimizing blank twist. The tool is ingenious and it is very, very nicely made. It should go without saying that if you purchase this tool to use in your shop, you should set it up and do trial runs with pre-glued blanks before attempting to use it on freshly glued rod sections. This specimen has been kept crated and unused for a decade and is in nearly perfect condition(there are a few tiny spots of oxidization on some steel parts; most parts are anodized aluminum and are unscathed by their time in the crate) There isn't a spec of glue on the tool. Harmony Sovereign H1266 Sunburst Deluxe Guitar w/case 6-string vintage and rare!
A pretty great example of a top of the line. USA-made Harmony Sovereign H1266. Made in 1970 per the date stamp inside. Let's start with the positive. Awesome sunburst, double pick guards(re-glued but solid) professional set up including replacement tuners(the factory originals were awful) Boomy, huge sound. Stays in tune and action is fine- as with all of these, probably needs a neck reset at some point. It's in great shape for it's age. Now for the downsides. A few dings and small cracks here and there- the worst of which is on the back(roughly 2.5 inches in width; see the close up below. It doesn't go through. And from what I can tell doesn't affect tone either) A small ding midway between the bridge and tail- hardly noticeable. Some of the glue from the pickguards is smeared on the body- but you can't really tell ... moreunless you look closely. The headstock tortoise decal is lifting ever so slightly. Again, nothing major here. Signs of capo wear on the back of the neck around the second fret. Doesn't affect playability. Includes a case and capo. As well as a new set of strings. Bozo B35-12 - 12 String Acoustic - Very Rare and Hard to Find - MIJ
Bozo Model B35-12. Acoustic 12 String designed by Bozo Podonuavac. Bozo's were originally made in the USA and then some production of standard models was sent to Japan in the early 70's and only lasted there only a few short years. Today Bozo's are made in the USA by special order only and are pretty pricey. This one has a lower serial number so most likely the first year of production which I believe would be 1971 or 72.and unlike a couple of others I have had this one does not say Made in Japan on the label. But I'm pretty sure it is of Japanese manufacture. I know the hardcase certainly is. Overall good to very good condition. It shows some surface wear and pick marks on the top. Sides and back are very good. This one has some strange feathering and pattern silking in the spruce top that appears like a stain in the clear, ... morebut if you look close you can see the swirls and feathers are in the wood grain and the wood accepted the finish differently and not uniform. I have never seen anything quite like this before. But, I have been told that finish issues was one of the things that Bozo was concerned with and it is common to see in some degree or another in other Japanese made Bozo's I have seen. Neck and frets are in very good shape, but there is some light wear in the fingerboard down to about the 6th& 7th fret. The olid spruce top has the signature heavy bracing you will see in all Bozo's. They are built like a tank, but with surprizing tone and clarity. It projects very well and at good volume. Rosewood laminate sides and back. Mahogany neck with rosewood overlays on the headstock and neck heel. Decent action. Bone nut and saddle. Comes with the original Japanese hardcase. Case is in good shape. But does have some mildew odor. It has a few spots of loose covering on the lower edge and side and some staining from over the years. Guitar fits like a glove in the case. Vintage 1965 Crown"Professional" 12 string Japan Hollow-body: These Dont show up here very often so here's your chance! It appears all original but is missing the detachable pickguard. It has some"checking" which appears to be only in the finish and very common. I only briefly played it and other than some minor scratchiness. Everything seems to check out ok. I believe this could be easily cleared up. The action seems nice and low, The neck appears straight. This guitar was well taken care of and probably sat in it's case for alot of it's existence. It has a very"throaty sound" with a tone all it's own. New strings would really bring it's tone out! Projects nicely unplugged as well. The only real neg. is the Case which isnt pretty yet I woulnt dare call it ugly. missing the handle, broken ... morehinges and some torn paper. With some TLC it could become an asset but it still is a chipboard and I wouldnt travel with it. but it does add some protection for storing it. Warwick Thumb 5 String Fretless Bolt-On Bass
I am the original owner of this bass. Serial number dates it at July 2000. It has been well cared for and used only in my private smoke free studio. It has minor playing wear. Specifically below the high string next to the knobs where I rest my pinky when playing it. It also has normal wear on the fretboard. It will ship with tapered round strings. But I am including a set of flat wound as well. Gig bag. Polish and truss rod tool are included. I have received a few questions regarding the use of roundwound strings on the bass. Warwick ships the bass with roundwounds. The neck is ebony and is very hard and durable. There are some light marks on the fretboard from the strings. Which are more noticeable in the photos than in person. There is no wear or unevenness to the fretboard. A heavily played 13 year old fretless bass would probably require ... morea fretboard sanding, if not a replacement. Even with flatwound strings. That is not the case with this fretboard. It is still flat and true. And not worn in the least. I did try a set of flatwounds. I purchased two packs of the Sadowsky flats. I did not like the tone as much. Tapered roundwounds have wonderful harmonic overtones with this bass. So I reverted back to those. And am including the second pack of flatwounds if the buyer chooses to try them. 2003 Fender American USA Deluxe Jazz bass V 5-string neck project fretless
Up for sale is a 2003 Fender American Deluxe Jazz bass V neck. This neck is a project- it was de-fretted. The fret holes were filled in a m e di ocre way. It functions fine in that respect. Just not th at clean. Everything else is original. The neck itself has a moderately significant forward bow. I tr ied to use a w rench to adjust it but the nut seems to be stripped. It catches to tu rn backward but tension fo rw ard and it slips. I don't think it is maxed out but I am not sure. It may be. So it is a project in that respect as well. Other than that. Cosmetically it is very clean with a few light scuffs on the back of the neck and a few very light nicks on the headstock. The fretboard is clean besi des the work done on it. Schecter Hellcat Bass VI 30" Scale 6 String Bass
This auction is for a Schecter Hellcat 6 string bass. I bought this to record with and only used it in my smoke free professional studio. It doesn't have much playtime on it and has spent most of its time on a stand. As I am mainly a guitar player. The finish is three tone sunburst. The pickups are Seymour Duncan and sound very nice. They're humbuckers and can be split by pulling out one of the knobs. I found that the guitar is more vintage like with the pot pulled out and is better for modern music(or as a bass substitution) with it left in the original position. It has Grover tuners and a Tone Pros bridge on it. I will ship it in its original factory box. More pictures to be uploaded later today. 1957 FENDER Double Neck Dual 8 String Lapsteel Guitar PROJECT
You are bidding on a vintage 1957 Fender Double Neck Dual 8 String Lapsteel Guitar. This is being sold in as-is condition as a total project and for parts. Somebody has really done a number to this. But would be great to restore or for parts. Original body is in decent shape. Looks like original finish has been stripped and a light coating of laquer has been applied. Inside reads: 5-57 for the date. There is quite a few original parts on this that can be used and salvaged: nuts. Frets, logo, pickups, and other miscellaneous screws and hardware. I think someone was trying to make this an early pedalsteel guitar, judging by the work. There are extra holes drilled, please view photos. All pickups appear to be original, I do not know if they are working or not. No legs are with this either. This is a great project. Serial# reads: 02622. Other ... morethan that, that's all I can tell you. This is a rare look into the mind of someone who was trying to create a very, very early pitch bending lapsteel.
