Most of the genuine notes were withdrawn(recalled by the US Congress) from circulation due to heavy British counterfeiting. This example is a genuine American Colonial issued note. Not one of the more common British issued counterfeits. Conservatively graded& certified by PCGS as Very Fine 20. And this example is Choice for that Grade. There are no splits. Tears, or conservation(repair) work done to this note. There are no pin holes of any kind. The $3.00 note is the second lowest denomination issued in May 1777. And it's the second highest valued note from this emission according to Freidberg- just behind the $2.00 denomination. Generally speaking, the lower denominations are ... moremore scarce/rare due to the simply fact that lower denomination circulated more extensively and therefor wore-out more quickly than the higher denominations did. The face is in excellent condition with just a few light scratches/nicks from hitting balls. A couple light brush marks on the leading edge, and a gew tee marks. The top line and crown are perfect. The sole has very light scratching/brush marks on the sole's leading edge from hitting balls and then a white paint smudge in the black. The perimeter of the head is excellent with just a little discoloration. The head is near mint(I ran out of characters in the title) as it was used 2 rounds, but I would give this head a 9.5 out of 10 as it shows signs of some uses. The former owners had lived there since he had gotten out of the military after enlisting during WWII. And her family had been on the property for generations before that. It’s all farm stuff- household, barn, outbuildings, property- many items from the 1800s and up. Lot of old iron, barn digs, primitives and pretties- I’m so excited to show them to you! Enjoy! I'm listing these old Cub Cadet lawn tractor blades as yard art. Not for use, as I have not used them, and don't have any idea how"sharp" or functional they would be. I just loved the way you can arrange them- from a flower, to an N, to a triangle to a 3 bladed fan.the ... morepossibilities are limited to your imagination! Each on measures 16 1.2" long, 2 1/2" widest and has a 3/4" hole in the center, with a 1/4" hole on either side. Each one weighs 2 1/4 lbs- so they are heavy. They have just the remnants of gold colored paint, that goes great with the darkened patina of the steel and the light surface rust that cen be seen all over- more of a covering in the center of the blades, and more spotty on the outside edges of the blades. They are in excellent solid and sturdy condition structurally, with no cracks or structural issues that I can find. I do see a CC mark that I think may be for Cub Cadet. These would look so cool hanging on the wall, or even inserted in the ground for your own whimsical iron sculpture! They are barn fresh dusty/dirty and could use a good cleaning. Love the LOOK!
