Early US WWII Fixed Bale M1 Helmet w/SC Low Pressure Liner & Silver rayon webbin
This is an Original US WWII Fixed bale M1 Helmet. It comes complete with its RARE. Early war, SC(Sinclai) Low Pressure liner. This rare liner has the same silver rayon webbing as the early paper liners. The helmet is in superb shape, and still retains over 95% of its Original cork textured OD paint. The chinstrap and buckles on the helmet are in virtually Mint condition. The Rare low pressure liner is in superb condition as well. The liner still retains over 98% of its original paint, and the silver rayon is in perfect shape, and not dry rotted or torn. The silver rayon snap in sweatband is also in excellent condition. This helmet shell is heat lot 5054. The liner has the EARLY fixed liner chinstrap. While I was taking the helmet apart for the photos, one end of the sweatband tore free from its fitting. This will be an easy fix with a little ... morerubber cement, but I have shown the seperated sweatband in the photos, because I don't want to deceive anyone. The metal attachment on one side has broken away from the liner. The chinstrap stays flipped over the rim because I tucked that side under the webbing. Feels like a solid M or L. Probably unisex shirt, maybe more of a ladies shirt because the sleeves are short.
