Vintage PATRIOTIC Backpack w/ Magnesium Frame - Red, White * Blue
Vintage Backpack This is for a wonderful vintage patriotic backpack in US colors of red. White and blue. I took the pack off so I could wash it a bit(by hand) and have not reattached the pack to the frame because my fingers are not strong enough. All the parts are here and I've placed them into a zip lock back and placed the hardware in a pocket of the pack. The frame is magnesium aluminum. It measures 33 inches tall and 15 inches wide. There are 5 zippered pockets on the pack(2 on each side and one on the lower end of the pack. The zippers were stubborn. I lightly rubbed candle wax over them and got them all working but they are stiff so probably need WD40 or something. I did see a few threads caught into the end. I don't see any holes or other such damage. It's a great vintage pack.

American Classic Magnesium Tubular 700c Road Wheelset Shimano
Item: American Classic Magnesium Tubular Road 700c wheelset with a Shimano/ Sram cassette body. These are older and I would say from around 2007-2009. American Classic has been making this Magnesium version since 2006. They have had one set of tires glued on and never got much use. You can clearly see the glue on the rim bed in the pictures. There is also a little glue on the rims and I tried to get a picture of this near one of valve stems. Also. Since these are magnesium they get a wierd color on the braking surface. I guess this is some kind of oxidation, I am not sure but I know this is common for these wheels and does not affect them. You can also clearly see this in the pictures. If you look at the hubs that gives you a pretty good idea how much these wheels were used. These also come with Ceramic bearing from the factory. Skewers are ... moreincluded and you can see the rear has some marks from being in a trainer. I could not find much on these wheels but here is a link to a review of them on Road Bike Review, The weight of these is around 1300 grams. Condition: Used but true with no problems. These are genuine US Military surplus in excellent condition. The photos are from two different pair. You do not get the snowshoes in the photos. They are all in excellent condition. Each set weighs about 5 pounds 5 ounces. Magnesium was used for strength and weight. There are cleats on the bottom for traction on ice. Tails help steer when sliding downhill. For sale is a great set of Magnesium Rock Shox. All the research I have done leads me to believe they are MAG 21s. There is another set of MAG 21s on ebay that appear to be identical to these. The asking price for those is $120. The steer tube is 135-140mm. It is 1 1/8 threaded. They are for a 26" wheel. These have been in storage for years. I bought them for a Giant Cadex Carbonfiber build that did not happen. I am going to be selling that frame as well. These would be a great upgrade for any rigid fork. I purposely did not clean these so as not to hide anything. These are the way they were in storage. These have not been made in many. Many years. They are getting harder and harder to find. The split back is very clean from screwdriver marks from prying it open like we all used to do BITD. I can see just a couple spots where it was opened up carefully. But they are minimal. The HUTCH stampings are very clean and sharp! NO hammer marks! The inside isn't even scratched up. It really looks like it just has minor nicks from being in a parts box. I'd say it was probably used on one bike and never abused. It is either ALUMINUM or MAGNESIUM. A magnet does NOT pull on it. Mine looks exactly like the one in post#9. American Classic Mag 300 Magnesium clinchers 1st generation 1280g ceramic
Rare and hard-to-find first generation American Classic magnesium clinchers(Mag 300) The ones with the ceramic coating. 700c. These are well-used, but are in great condition. Spokes are round, not Sapim, and the rim decals have been removed(for a Johnny Cash look) I am the second owner and I rebuilt the rear hub with new bearings and upgraded to the new freehub. The wheels are straight, true, and smooth as butter. The ceramic coating is starting to wearing through on one side of the rear wheel. There's no wear on the base metal it's just that it is starting to show(look closely at the photos) The other side and front wheel(both sides) are still intact-only the anodization has worn off. Maxxis flyweight rim strips and AC skewers included. Confirmed weight is 1280g with rim strips. Won't find a lighter clincher set with the same ... morehigh spoke count.
