Up for auction is this old school Weber Perfomer longboard.I was told by the previous owner that it was his father's and had been sitting in his backyard for the last 40 years.As the story goes.The father used to ride it at Malibu Point back in the day.The reason for the nonoriginal fin is that he hit a rock there and replaced it with the one that you see in the picture.It has double stringers and a cool airbrush on the deck.The bottom of the board is yellow from age and has some dings but nothing major.I cannot substantiate the age of the board since there are no writing anywhere that dates it.Consequently,if you know something that I do not,let me know and I will update my description.As it is, it would make a great nose rider. FLY ROD - 9 FOOT WITH ALUMINUM TRAVEL CASE
This auction is for a 9 foot fly rod and aluminum travel case. The rod was my father's and as far as I can remenber it was seldom used. The rod is approximately 65 years old and it appears to be in very good condition however the butt end does show some wear. Also one eyelet in the middle section needs to have the thread rewound. The rod is hexagnoal in shape and there are 3- 3 foot sections with an extra tip section. I have had the rod since my father died in 1961 but never used it as I wasn't interested in fly fishing. I have decided to sell it to someone who may be able to put this rod to good use. The travel case measures 39" in length and will be used th ship the rod. This is a barely used Lamson 3 reel with a 9-foot. 4-piece pack rod and a Wave case. I bought this outfit for back-country trips chasing steelhead and salmon in Upstate New York and Ontario, Canada, and for hike-in trips for trout out west. It was used for less than 10 trips. I tucked the outfit in a closet last time I used it, about 15 years ago, and just discovered it while cleaning things out for a cross-country move. The reel seems smooth and was stored with the drag at the lowest setting. The graphite pack rod doesn't have any markings, but as I recall it is a 6-7 weight and came from either Cabelas, LL Bean, or Orvis. It has a good action, casts like a 6-7 weight, and while I would recommend replacing the line, it seems like it would still be usable. In addition to the hike-in fishing I bought it for, it feels like it would be a ... moregreat all-around rod for anything from panfish, smallmouth and largemouth bass, on up to big-stream brown trout and striped bass. It is a Shakespeare Howald Wondrod.really the first great fiberglass rod.with a date code of 1959 on it. It is a standard taper. Light action rod. Condition is used with some wear but the seat. Eyes and wraps are good. It is the original length when assembled so it has not been broken and repaired.
