The Yakima river watershed is a gem: From the multiple eagles inhabiting the waterway during the winter, to the Bighorn sheep calling the banks its home, to the mule deer, the heron, the hawk, the cougar, bobcat, black bear, elk and the trout. From the water it supplies the farmer and the recreational venue it provides for water sports, to the basalt daisy which is only indigenous to the Yakima river canyon and the incredible white ash line in the lower canyon in remembrance of a time that man was not here and Mt Mazama deposited its mark. It is a river of many faces from its terrain and seasons to the tactics and methodology used to fool the trout.
Our day trip adventure has been our bread and butter for 27 years now. A day waterside with one of our guide staff is an invaluable experience. Ninetynine percent of our guided trips on the Yakima are based on a drift trip from point A to point B. During low water season there is ample wading opportunities if so desired, but the heart and soul of a day on the water with our crew is a drift trip.
There are many watersheds that offer significant beauty. While the Yakima is not the only beautiful river it most certainly is dramatic, unique and a Blue Ribbon stream centrally located in Washington

The headwaters of the Klickitat river originate on the slopes of Mount Adams in Washington. The topographic map shows an incredible myriad of small streams combining to form this glacial ... morewaterway and the river is home to a strong Fall Chinook and Summer Steelhead run. The landscape is unique and predominantly a combination of scrub oak, pine trees and cottonwood. The watershed is home to a large population of deer, turkey, cougar and elk.
The drainage is quite steep and in fact some of the lower portions of the river are not navigable due to class 5+ falls. The river tumbles into the Columbia approximately 120 miles from the salt and this can equate to some rather 'hot' summer run steelhead. The Klickitat river's wild strain of steelhead are strong and unpredictable. Typically in the 8-12 pound class with fish as large as 18-20 pounds caught occasionally. The wild summer steelhead runs enter the river anywhere from June until November. In addition to the wild steelhead, the hatchery steelhead that inhabit the Klickitat are of the Skamania strain. We like to say...'What is the first clue that you know you are on the Klickitat river? Answer, 'You just got your A_ _ handed to you!'
During the heat of summer the fishing can be a bit sketchy due to the lack of clarity in the river. However, once the weather patterns cool down a bit, the river's clarity will typically be in the 2 to 5 foot range. We fish the river with both swing and nymph tactics. Two handed rods are a useful tool as are single handers. For those of you who would like to swing the fly exclusively on the Klickitat, then we are your crew. For those of you who would like to nymph the Klickitat, then we are your crew. For those of you who would like to mix it up, then we are your crew. We are well versed in all techniques from skating dries to slack line drifting egg patterns. We don't presume to tell you how you should fish the fly for steelhead, we do however listen to your desires and build an adventure based on those requests.
Come spend a day with us on the Klickitat. Our day and multiple day trips are based on a full day or series of full days. Accessing the river can be by boat, walk/wade, bike/wade. If you have a preference or would like to mix and match, let us know!

Located in the notheast corner of Washington, the Kettle river is one we have been fishing since 1994; we just haven't been guiding it until the last 10 years. During spring thaw (typically ... moreMay/June) the river may peak at 9000 cfs. However, by August the flows may be as low as 300 cfs. Access is difficult for launching a boat save for a few locations and when the water gets real low ie: August, it makes for some rather long distances between actual put-ins and take outs. We are fortunate to have some private access. We fish this river generally in June, July, Sept and October in conjunction with our seasons on the Upper Columbia.
The fishing can be stellar with the dry fly. The fish are incredibly beautiful wild redbands and pound for pound incredibly strong.
The 'Sister River' to the Yakima is the Naches. Over the years we have spent many a day on this partial freestone/partial tailwater. We were the first to offer float trips on this ... morebeautiful Washington river... for awhile we did not want to let that 'cat out of the bag' as it is a unique and fun fishery.
The Upper Naches river is formed by three rivers...The Bumping, American, and the Little Naches. Two of the rivers, the American and the Little Naches are freestones. Each of these rivers have merrit, but after the confluence of these we find the river to be a bit more consistent. The river is only to be navigated via boat by expert/advanced rowers as it has a high gradient, tight conditions, combined with a bit of white water! Aside from the fishing the actual boat ride and scenery is awesome. As the water subsides in late summer and fall, the wading opportnities are thumbs up.
The Lower Naches river is formed by the Naches and the Tieton. From this joining downstream the river is considered the Naches until it joins the Yakima at the Selah Gap! Hatches are definitely consistent throughout the watershed. Caddis, Yellow Mayflies and Stoneflies are the staple aquatic insects. Small fish and the biomass of the spawning Salmon are another main food source as well. There are some large predator Cutthroat in this system. We tend to not nymph the Naches river much as it seems that it is not needed. We like to dry fly, streamer on the move and swing the fly.
The #1 clue you know you are on the Naches River in the month of July is....You can't figure out if the trip is a fishing trip or a whitewater adventure!
A full day float trip on the Madison River. This trip meets in Ennis, Montana near the Madison. The guide will meet you in Ennis and provide transportation for the short drive to the ... moreriver. At the boat ramp guides will provide instruction on the days fishing tecniques and launch a drift boat for the float. For those who have never fly fished, the guide can quickly teach the basics and get you to a the point that you will be able to enjoy the fishing and catch fish. The guide will provide all the flies and tackle that you need for the day. All you really need to bring is a Montana Fishing license, appropriate clothing and sunglasses for eye protection. The fishing involves floating down the river and casting flies from the boat. Floats are typically around 7 hours of floating but can vary depending on the preference of the customer. All of the fishing is usually done from the boat, which makes wearing waders optional and not at all nessesary. At mid day you will take a break on the bank and enjoy lunch provided by your guide. The fishing on the Madison is fast paced with lots fresh spots to cast into and typically great action for rainbow and brown trout. The Madison is one on the most consistantly productive rivers that we fish and it typically will fish well from mid April through Mid October. Late June through September are considered the peak season. Trout typically range from 10-20 inches with fish over 20 inches possible. Fish in the 14-17 inch range are normal and the bigger fish of the day typically range from 18-20 inches. The river flows through the scenic Madison valley with the Madison mountain range always in view.
A full day trip on the "Land of the Giants" section of the Missouri River. This trip meets at the Gates of the Mountains marina 20 miles south of Helena Montana on upper Holter Lake. ... moreThe guide/USCG licensed captain will meet you at the marina on upper Holter Lake where you will launch a custom jet boat and motor roughly 15 minutes across the lake to the Missouri River. The Boat is a 16 foot G3 skiff powered by a 30hp Yamaha outboard jet. The skiff is equiped with oars, casting braces and seating, which allow it to function much like a drift boat. The fishing is float style fishing with the guide rowing down the river as anglers cast flies from the boat. The motor is used to navigate across the lake and to the various streches of the river for floating. The guide will provide all the flies and tackle that you need for the day. All you really need to bring is a Montana Fishing license, appropriate clothing and sunglasses for eye protection. Floats are typically around 7 hours of floating but can vary depending on the preference of the customer. All of the fishing is usually done from the boat, which makes wearing waders optional and not at all nessesary. At mid day you will take a break on the bank and enjoy lunch provided by your guide. At the Land of the Giants, we target numbers of large trout with nymphs, streamers and ocassionally dry flies. This river will typically will fish well from mid April through June and again from September through October. Trout typically range from 16-24 inches with fish over 24 inches possible. Fish in the 18-21 inch range are normal and the bigger fish of the day typically range from 22-25 inches. The river flows through a steep scenic canyon with beautiful cliffs above. Sightings of eagles, deer and mountain goats high on the cliffs are frequent. This is a truly amazing trip that frequently produces big numbers of large rainbow trout with an occasional brown trout.
A full day trip on Ennis Lake near The Madison River and Ennis Montana. This trip meets in Ennis, Montana. The guide will meet you in Ennis and provide transportation for the short ... more10 minute drive to Ennis Lake. At the boat ramp guides will provide instruction on the days fishing tecniques and launch a drift boat or motor boat on the lake. This trip is not ideal for first time anglers but can offer really fun casting to rising trout for those with some casting experience. The guide will provide all the flies and tackle that you need for the day. All you really need to bring is a Montana Fishing license, appropriate clothing and sunglasses for eye protection. The fishing typically involves targeting rising rising trout with dry flies and dry droppers but fishing weed lines and flats with small lake streamers is effective as well. July and August are the prime months for targeting rising fish during big morning hatches. The fishing is usually done from the boat but wade fishing the flats is an effective technique as well. Wearing waders optional but recomended. At mid day you will take a break and enjoy lunch provided by your guide. The fishing on Ennis lake is typically stalking and delicatly casting flies to rainbow and brown trout. Ennis Lake typically will fish well from May through August. Late June through early August are considered the peak season. Trout typically range from 15-20 inches with fish over 20 inches possible. Fish in the 16-20 inch range are normal and the bigger fish of the day typically range from 19-21 inches. Ennis Lake is a great day trip to add some dry fly fishing to a Madison River or Ennis Montana fishing trip.
A full day float trip on the Jefferson. This trip meets in Ennis, Montana or Twin Bridges Montana. The guide will meet you in Ennis or Twin Bridges and provide transportation for the ... moredrive to the river. The drive from Twin Bridges typically ranges from 5 minutes to 45 minutes and the drive from Ennis to the river typically ranges from 45 minutes to just over an hour. At the boat ramp guides will provide instruction on the days fishing tecniques and launch a drift boat for the float. The guide will provide all the flies and tackle that you need for the day. All you really need to bring is a Montana Fishing license, appropriate clothing and sunglasses for eye protection. The fishing involves floating down the river and casting flies from the boat. The Jefferson is a smaller, beautiful braided river that flows through the cottonwoods of the valley. The Jefferson is one of our smaller float rivers and it typically sees much fewer angelers than other rivers which means that you are likely to see only a few other boats during the day. The Jefferson typically will fish well from May through Mid October. May through September are considered the peak season. Trout typically range from 10-20 inches with fish over 20 inches possible. Fish in the 14-17 inch range are normal and the bigger fish of the day typically range from 18-21 inches. The river flows through the scenic Jefferson valley with the Tobacco Root mountain range always in view and moose are frequently sighted on the float. The Jefferson is known as a smaller, less fished river that occassionally produces really large brown trout.
We fish the Neuse River and Pamlico Sound for speckled seatrout, redfish, striper, flounder, giant red drum,bass, crappie, perch, bream and shad trips and the Crystal Coast for false ... morealbacore, bonito, bluefish, cobia, sharks and giant red drum on both fly or light tackle.
Spec Fever Guide Service fishes from a 22 ft. Frontier bay boat and can fish up to 3 comfortably, but for fly fisherman we recommend 2 anglers. Trips are priced per boat from 1 to 3 anglers. All your tackle, a blanket saltwater license, ice and bottled water is provided.

He and his fly patterns have been published in many books and magazines. Capt. The Klamath River is very scenic and abundant with wildlife including black bears, otters, deer, eagles and other birds of prey. During the fishing season it's not uncommon to encounter ... moreone or all of these animals during your trip. The Klamath sports two separate runs of king salmon. Springer's which enter the river from mid-May through mid-July, and the fall run which begins in early August and continues through late October. These salmon average 8 to 15 pounds but can reach weights in excess of 40 pounds.
Steelhead begin showing up in the river in July and average 5 to 8 pounds with some reaching the mid-teens. There are also an abundant of 12-18 inch steelhead called half-pounders during the salmon season which can make for quite a fun filled day of fishing for beginners and seasoned anglers alike.
Our guided fly-fishing trips include 8 hours or more spent pursuing steelhead. Your leaders and Fly's are included in the price of the trip. You are welcome to bring your own tackle if you prefer.

The Lower Provo River is a 30-minute drive from Park City and is a true tailwater fishery, which means the fish benefit from cold-oxygenated water all-year round. It flows out of Deer ... moreCreek Reservoir winding down 20 miles to Utah Lake. With the exquisite backdrop of Mt. Timpanogos and the Wasatch mountain range it flows through the Provo Canyon and is described as one large riffle. The Lower Provo River is known for its abundance of large Rainbow and Brown trout, with easy access through a railroad track following the river. The excellent bug life and a year-around diet of sow bugs make the trout fat and healthy. An average size trout on the lower Provo River is approximately 16-18 inches; surely putting a bend in your rod.
The blue-winged olive hatch in the springtime is second to none, making the Lower Provo a guide favorite in the early season. The Lower Provo also gets a heavy hatch of PMDs and caddis in the summer months. Unlike the Middle Provo River, the Lower Provo River provides the ability to float the river. We do the majority of our trips on the Lower Provo River in the spring and early summer. This is due to two factors, the fishing is most active in the early parts of the year before the moss settles in and makes it very difficult to fish. Also the Lower Provo River is a favorite among locals to float down with a tube in the Middle of the summer once school gets out. Park City Fly Fishing Company can get you to all the sweet spots on this incredible fishery.

Only two-and-a-half hours from Park City, the Upper Green is a spectacular trout fishery. Park City Fly Fishing Company is one of few outfitters that guides on the Upper Green River ... morebelow the Fontanelle Reservoir. This particular part of the Green River drainage is home to some of the largest and hardest fighting fish you will ever have the privilege of trying to catch. Park City Fly Fishing Company offers float trips on the Green River from March-July and mid-September to the end of October. You will consistently have chances at fish in the 18-22” range, with an occasional chance of a much larger fish just around the bend.
The Upper Green River is a high-desert fishery with the feeling of tranquil solitude. With the Wind River Range in the background, it makes for some spectacular scenery. On your float, it is not uncommon to see a variety of wildlife such as moose, deer, pelicans, bald, and golden eagles. This fishery is remote and will at times test your skill as an angler. Single day float trips down the A and B sections of the Green River provide some of the most prolific fly-fishing in the world. These sections are known worldwide as premiere trout ... morestreams, and the epic fishing is just half of it. The scenery in these sections is awe inspiring. The clarity of the Green River, the vast amount of wildlife around the river, the red rock cliffs, and peaceful quiet are just few of the many lures that make many people call this one of their favorite places visit, vacation, and fish.
The Green River below Flaming Gorge dam boasts a very large 15,000 trout per square mile. This fish population is extremely healthy and large Brown and Rainbow trout are common. These sections of the river are considered a Blue Ribbon fishery and produce some of the best fishing that can be had.
