Everything is in great working condition and functions as intended except for one thing: The nut on the bottom of the top part of the blender(the container) is stripped out(the part that the shaft on the top of the motor unit goes into to drive the blades) I took a picture of it- look at all the pictures. And as you can see. The hexagon shaft on top of the motor unit is not worn even a bit. You can probably buy this part and put it on. Because there is a bolt that you can loosen up and take out that connects the nut and the blades to the bottom of the container, which would make this a perfectly operational blender setup. but, if not, just buy a new container. Vintage Vitamix Super 3600 Blender very light use Cool Retro Style Does it All!
This is a fantastic find. Looks Like this was used very-very little by the condition of the stainless steel container and the wood tamper. Please excuse the drop of water I forgot to wipe away inside the blender. I was testing it and it seems to run effortlessly. Comes with its original paperwork. Recipe book and all original stickers are still intact. I see some debris up under the gasket on the lid section and the whole item is in need of a light cleaning of outer parts and buffing with a soft cloth for fingerprints, etc. but really-it is in super nice condition for its apparent age, which research tells me was at least over 30 years ago. I just watched a great youtube review on this model, titled"10 reasons I like my vita-mix 3600 and 2 I don't. Robb's homemade life) He states among other things that his makes the"best ... morecream soups" and is a"excellent tool for preppers. Some of his 10 reasons are that it is reliable, built to last, it can heat and cook by friction, it has a great retro look to it and it can grind grains. He also states that even in non-working condition, that old vitamixers can be turned into the manufacture for $100.00 off a new vitamix machine. His reasons for not liking it was noise and he thought maybe the delicious custards he made had made him a little sick. Something about the eggs possibly needing more heat, etc. At any rate- I believe this machine is in excellent working order. The 3600 apparently runs the spectrum on things it will do-from juicing to ice-cream maker. Meat grinder to dough kneading-as Robb mentioned in his video, it even makes steaming hot soups with some sort of friction or something or other according to its instruction/recipe manual. I agree with Robb-Very cool looking item, too, with all its shiny parts that will look even better once they are spiffed up a bit. Inside is super clean, though, no work needed there. But there are a couple of issues I need to bring to your attention. 1. The spigot has been disabled. My neighbor’s husband did it. And she can’t remember why, but it is replaceable or you might know how to fix it. Unlike the new ones, this one has the ability to empty the contents either through the action dome or the pitcher. 2. There is a place on the cord where it’s been placed up against something hot. It’s not melted through. But it did start to melt. Easily fixable with electrical tape. The current gasket needs to be replaced; however. As you can see in the photo, there’s a brand new gasket included. My neighbor disassembled the combination Instruction/Recipe booklet as some of her favorite recipes ... morewere in it. Okay.I purchased my Vitamix 6300 at Costco about three years ago. Everything was great until about a year ago.I tried to blend the piece of really hard Parmesan cheese in the blender. I mean, it was hard as a rock.and if you blender rock in a Vitamix, I think it might crack.anyhow I had to order a new one from the company. I used this one for a while with the crack and it worked just fine. I had put a piece of packing tape over the cracked area and it did not leak. I imagine if you use some super glue or something like that this container might last for a long time. They sent a ranch so that I could take the bottom part off and put it on my new container so I will be sending that along with this one. The blades are not included.
