CAO Meerschaum Pipe Block Carved Estate Smoker Man with Turban in Original Case bent carved block meerschaum pipe, from manufacturer Cao, circa 1970's, depicts a laughing man wearing a turban, has its original white velvet-lined case, pipe is unmarked, case has its original label inside which reads"Cao Handcrafted of the Finest Block Meerschaum by Cao" I believe the stem is yellow bakelite& has the silver CAO logo, does not stand on its own, Size: Pipe length is 6 1/2" Bowl height is 3 1/4" at its highest point, Bowl diameter is 1 3/4" x 2" Chamber depth is 1 1/2" Chamber diameter is 3/4" Condition: This is in good vintage condition. It has been previously smoked and should be cleaned& sanitized but. I leave that up to the next owner. There are no chips or fills but there appears to be a ... moresuperficial crack to the left side of his face-looks like it was made this way. The bowl has moderate darkening. Moderate discoloration to the stem. The mouthpiece has very minor discoloration and light bite marks. Victorian Era Secret Smoker Necklace Sterling & Meerschaum Very Rare & Uniq
Victorian ladies that smoked were considered by some as"fast" women. So. They smoked by themselves in secret or with other women. This necklace was one of the ways that was created to be ready in case the opportunity to smoke presented itself and they could get away for a secret smoke. This is a Victorian Secret Smoker Sterling Silver necklace. It is made of sterling silver. The mouthpiece, judging from the way it has aged with use, is made of what I believe to be meerschaum although it could be made of something else. The necklace is also made of sterling silver and is stamped with 925. I don't know if it is as old as the Secret Smoker. It has some makers marks on it of a star shape and 274 AR. It works beautifully. The cap screws off/on easily. The little cigarette holder pulls into shape effortlessly and stays extended. There ... moreis a dent on the bottom wide edge of the holder. I imagine it was once hastily put away to avoid detection. The shaped mouthpiece seems perfect with no cracks etc. I got this 45 years ago from an antique store in Laguna Beach. It has been a real conversation piece and I never used it for smoking as it was just too neat. A lovely piece of sterling silver jewelry with a story to tell. USS CONNECTICUT, BB-18 1910 Ship "Smoker" Event Invitation
This is an original USS Connecticut BB-18 1910Ship"Smoker"Invitation for all on board personnel to attend this Boxing and Musical event that was held February 12. 1910. This was the period when the Connecticut, flagship of the Atlantic Fleet commander Admiral Seaton Schroeder, was on station in the Caribbean practicing battle maneuvers. This colorful Invitation measures 6.87" long x 2.62 wide with two brown covers and 4 double pages stapled at one. It is complete with a cigar band that states USS Connecticut Smoker with a picture on the back cover of the USS Connecticut. The invitation is complete and and in excellent condition. It was printed by the onboard printing room and details the schedule of bouts and other activities that evening. This and other pieces as well as many letters are in a collection of Admiral Seaton Schroeder's ... morepapers that I obtained 12years ago in Boston. There are literally hundreds of letters and other documents still left in the files which I will be listing in the coming weeks. US Navy Admiral Seaton Schroeder was born in Washington. DC, the son of the US Ambassador to Sweden. He graduated from the United States Naval Academy in 1868 and made the Navy his career for almost 50 years. He was in the assault on the Citadel at Salt River in Korea in 1868. He served with distinction during the Spanish-American War as executor officer on the USS Massachusetts(1898) as the Naval Governor of Guam(1900 to 1903) Chief Intelligence Officer of the Navy(1903 to 1906) and commander of the Atlantic Fleet(1909-1911) Schroeder retired in late 1911, but was recalled to active duty the following year and was a naval advisor during World War I. He died October, 1923 at the Washington, DC Naval Hospital. In 1942, the destroyer USS Schroeder(DD-501) was launched and was named in his honor. Antique Folk Art Smoker Marionette/ Puppet-Genuine-Original-ca.1880'- 90's
The Marionette/Puppet is all original and carved from solid pine. Jointed at head. Shoulders, wrists, waist, and knees. Clothe also old. The head was carved out from neck. Small hole at mouth and back of lower head for hose which has been gone for years. There is no damage or repairs. He stands 28" tall. Marked on the bottom Hergestellt in DDr. This wood carved figure measures about 8.5" tall. He has a cotton beard. A cloth bag with hard small pieces inside. He is carrying a what looks like a wood broom. His metal pipe? curves down and there is a wood piece. Slim leather belt around his waist. His left arm came unglued during transportation. Made by Expertica in the Erzgebirge Region in(at the time) East Germany(DDR) The 4 1/2"x4 1/2"x3" wooden figure is overall in very good shape, however: part of pipe is missing, as is paper(resembling book) that was on left hand, and hat tassel. Mann Lake beehive smoker fogger, made in USA
I bought this at a sale. It looks like it has been used quite a bit, there is a loose part on the inside of the metal canister I don't know if that is normal or not, I'm sure you experienced beekeeper people would know. When I pump it I can feel air come out of the metal nozzle on top so I am assuming this thing works like it should. There is quite a bit of soot buildup inside the metal can that needs to be cleaned out. Please ask questions prior to bidding.
