The stand comes in two separate parts and(as shown in the pictures) can be disassembled for safe storage. Both the base and the plaquette are covered in fabric. This is made of metal and has a raised lion. This has no makers names or marks. I'd say it is probably from the early 1900's. This is 4 1/2 inches tall and 3 1/2 inches wide. This has a rod on the back which is 3 3/4 inches long and screwed into something. It either went in a sign or perhaps the wall. It might have been a curtain tie back? You are bidding on a vintage wood sign for CURRINS WHALE OIL.I have had this sign for a couple of years hanging in my home. It seems as if it was made out of driftwood and measures 5 ft 3 inches long and 14 inches wide. Sometime in the past. The small fin on the bottom was slightly creased and glued back in place. It is a beautifully graphic piece and is as I found it here in Florida. Most likely, the paint is NOT original, but I feel that whoever painted it over the years stayed true to what was on it originally. The dark spots on the back is from where I cut out a piece of plastic and glued it to the back to protect my wall from smudging and dirt marks. I don't think that this is a very common shape for a vintage Goodyear sign- I was not able to find another oval shaped one like this on completed auctions- most of the others are rectangular or diamond shaped. This one measures 28 inches wide by 20 inches tall. It does have a gun shot mark on the“Tires” text and there are some chips along the edges particularly along the holes for hanging the sign. Other than that this sign is in very good condition for its age with nice colors with little fading. I am not exactly sure how old this sign is. My Dad picked it up at a flea market in Maybrook. Mostly just edge stuff.
