Manifold, heat gauge, vacuum pump, control box& electrical box from a working sign shop who's owner retired. I have not hooked it up at my house other than testing the main panel which powered up. The vacuum pump also powered up fine using the main panel switch. The Milliapres Meter, electrodes& gasses were purchased new& never used. The control box has a main power on/off switch, a switch for the pump, a electric meter(which probably works fine but I'm including a true milliampres meter) control knob for electricity output& the power button for your electricity. With steel metal frame and cage. It was made by Everbrite Electric Signs in 1962. It measures 39" L) x 13(T) x 4(W) The neon has a metal frame with a steel grading back side making it even more unique and rarer than it already is. I believe the left side of the sign is hollow and has a burnt out light bulb that is supposed to light up the left side. I cannot confirm this because I am afraid to tinker with this rare sign. But if you look at pic#10. You can see that it has a small fuse in the center and that usually means that their is a light in there. This is a big heavy old neon. It's glass tubes are in great shape. But the back paint is chipping slightly. The metal frame and grading has some grime on it, which I left because I thought the original look of how I found it was the way to go. for sale is a Schwinn vintage neon sign from the 1940s-1950s the sign came from a bicycle supply company called Ludwig in cint ohio they were a Bicycle store from 1910 to 1983. I bought the sign from them in 1983 before they closed. The last picture is the name plate of there bicycles that Schwinn made for them. the name plate goes with the sign the sign needs to be repaired there is one small hole in the black tubing, because I packed it up to tight with bubble wrap, it has been in storage since 1996, I also have a new custom built for transformer that goes with the sign, a company in tenn, made the transformer, in 1995 it is made very well and strong will last a life time. 26” diameter X about 7” depth. Old. Original Electric Neon Clock Co, Cleveland, Ohio“double ring” neon advertising clock. Clock runs fine and quiet, including sweep second hand; the time set wheel also works fine. Internal neon tube visible from edge of front glass, outer tube broken/ gone– neon does not light up. Retains original glass insulators at bottom border. Fluted steel case has some external rust at bottom between stand brackets, but not rusted through; rear steel panel has some rust at bottom portion, but again not rusted out. Paint loss on the heavy iron ring around face glass; no damage to front glass. Clockface has some darkening(if it were bright white originally, it is more like a very light tan, now) hands are original black with silver second hand. No marquis, but the brackets/ bolts for marquis remain. Dirty and dusty as ... morefound; we wiped off some greasy gunk from the case. Deco Mania this week– I am thinning the herd on my Art Deco items and have many listed– please see my other items for some great Deco pieces. For bid is a great old Art Deco styled Light Up Neon sign advertising Precision Photo Equipment. Super bullet ends with chrome bands for accent. The sign has a glass front with reverse painted glass that shows some paint chipping. Inside that are glass rods that run the full width of the sign– guessing the rods are 1/8” in diameter) There is another piece of glass in back of that holding it together. When you look at the letters you can see the ribbed effect. Sign is made by Allison Sign co. in Milwaukee. Comes with A Franceformer transformer(France Mfg. Co. Model#7520H) in hammertone black paint. As you can see the GTO wires were clipped on the transformer. Wildwood NJ Original neon sign CASBA CLUB Art Deco design neon lighting
Original neon sign from the Club Casba complex that stood at Spicer& Atlantic Aves. in Wildwood NJ since the 1950's. The sign was taken down in the winter of 2013 after the property sold. This is the top section of the sign and measures a manageable 5' x 5' x 10" wide, add 3" for neon tubing. Sign was made by a long-standing experienced sign company here and is a great modern art deco design, especially with the sheet metal work and this type of expert custom work is very cost-prohibitive for most concerns today. Very colorful neon is gold. Turquoise, white, light blue and lilac purple lettering which unfortunately the pictures don't do justice. I'll try to post some better ones to highlight the colors better. Face of sign is hand-painted pastel colors and now a nice burnished worn patina, channel letters ... moreare black metal on outside and white inside. Side of sign is black sheet metal. Powered by one transformer. Total power draw on this beauty is just 200 watts! The sign will stand on its own on the sturdy interior angle iron but I'd suggest some angle iron on the rear to hang it by(screws are still there) or there is access on the bottom to weld a more secure stand for it. The Club Casba was once the Hotel Wildwood and Glass Bar and later turned to mainly comedy for its last 3 decades. Dom Irrera(Have any STRANGERS packed your bags? was a longtime headliner there. This neon was the last big neon sign to grace the building, which still survives in another reincarnation, this time as an Italian Restaurant. The lower section of the sign is also available. Original Porcelain neon sign channel letter industrial art wall art Wildwood NJ
Vintage porcelain steel neon channel letter O in double-stroke neon from the former Wildwood NJ Convention Hall. Built in 1969. It was demolished for a new facility in 2003. This is from the sign on the west side of the building that was on Ocean Ave. see postcard) You would be hard-pressed to find virtually any porcelain neon signs made since the 1960's. And even back to the 1940's individual porcelain neon channel letters were rare. The letter is 2' high x 17" wide by 2 1/2" deep. The double-stroke neon is rose pink in color. It is a chocolate brown porcelain and still in very good shape and shiny as most porcelain signs still are. Tube supports are also original. Electrodes are now inside of letter for ease of hanging& display. Total power draw would be appx. 100 watts. One from a beer sign would also work fine) In the early 1970's Wildwood Convention Hall hosted many big name rock acts. Mainly those just before they became mega-stars or late 60's big names beginning their decline. They would have entered the hall just under the sign from where this letter came. Among them Elton John, Black Sabbath, J Geils, Procol Harum, Steppenwolf, Sly, ELO, ELP, Kinks, Kiss, Humble Pie, Mountain. I saw Jethro Tull and Yes on the same bill here for 5 bucks! N. Wildwood NJ Original neon sign AVALON APTS. Last mid-century neon survivor
U p for auction is the sole neon survivor of the Wildwoods. NJ's, post WW-II rooming house days, the well-known double-sided AVALON Apts. neon sign. It hung on the beach block of 26th Ave. for over a half century as you entered North Wildwood's mid-century motel row that stretched all the way to the inlet at the north end of the island. Only a handful of these motels still exist, well over 50 were demolished between 2000-2006) This sign functioned sporadically until 2011 when the rooming house was torn down. See pics of rooming house with sign) Plans were to re-erect it on its newer corner neighbor. The Avalon Motel, same owner) but that too fell on issues now scourging the island, did not reopen last season, and was sold to a new owner and renamed. This unique oval sign is a classic double-strap hanging swing sign. There were once ... morehundreds of these on the island at rooming houses, old hotels and smaller businesses. But rarely oval in shape. It measures 6' long x 3' high and 10" wide, add another 5" for the exposed neon sides. The hang straps are 20" high, 14" of which are above the signs top edge. They are 2" x 1/4" forged steel and wrap an additional two feet around each side of the sign can. There are a few interior rust spots on the inside sides, there is no rust on the inner panels or on the bottom where the two big neon transformers are, one of which is original. The total power draw on all this brilliant neon is just 8 amps. The top access panels are original, as are most of the neon tube supports and glass housings. The panels are riveted, not screwed, to the sign can all the way around with a 1" lip edge. All in all a classic neon that has escaped the demo craze and survived hundreds of flung bottles, beer cans, bikini straps, flip-flops, pizza crusts, frisbees and footballs.
