I have for sale a Griswold No.12 Cast Iron Griddle p/n 741. This griddle has ERIE. Griswold Slant Logo, and an inset heat ring. All the markings are in great condition and are cast nice and deep. Circa 1915, this No.12 griddle is in near flawless condition and is free of chips, cracks, warps, and wobbles. It sits perfectly flat and is spotlessly clean. The top is smooth as glass and begs to have bacon and eggs on it with one tiny casting flaw(see pic. 3) The bottom is near flawless as well with a nice ghost mark and very very light pitting around the Griswold Logo. I use electrolysis to bring all of my cast iron back to an impeccably clean condition(not harsh chemicals) I then use organic canola oil to give them the perfect seasoning!This is a great size for todays kitchen so don't miss out on this great Antique Griddle. This auction is for a# 8 Griswold Handle Griddle made of black iron and produced in the 1920's. It has been around for awhile. But remains in very good condition.The markings on its bottom are meant to display on someone's wall. It is the Large Slant Griswold logo and the X Reinforcements along with other printing. I believe that the pictures give you a good idea as to how nice it will look. The cooking surface measures 9" in diameter and has a couple of spots of minor surface rust. There is no crud. Baked on food, or carbon buildup left on it. There is minor staining and utensil scratches from age, use, and storage. There are no chips, cracks, breaks, repairs or damage of any kind to the piece. The griddle is 11 1/8” across the top and with the handle it is 15 ¾” long and it stands 1 ¼” tall. The center cooking surface is 9 ¾” in diameter. This griddle style was made in the 1970’s and 1980’s. It rings like a bell when struck. Appld For 1102 A The cooking surface is very smooth and extremely close to its original condition with no holes or pitting. This is an excellent piece for cooking as the grease drains into the canal around the outside edges. I clean all of my cast iron back to the original gun metal gray casting or as close as I can. This way it has no residue or contaminants from previous use or storage. The new owner can use with confidence in their safety. I only season with three coats of solid shortening in the oven for about six hours. This is why my cast iron does not always appear black. You could perhaps say it has been restored as close as possible to its original condition. There is a possibility that some of what I refer to as shallow pin point pitting is actually original to the casting. I do no oil my cast iron so they show up shiny or better for the pictures. I do not put my cast iron in a smoker to get it black or paint it black. I do not put varnish on the inside cooking surface to make it appear glass shiny and smooth! Vintage Deco? Chrome Manning Bowman Waffle Maker Sandwich Grill Griddle EXellent
This is a beautiful to look at and a beautifully operating Manning Bowman waffle maker and griddle. Manning Bowman was a division of McGraw Edison. This is super shiny chrome as you see and with a better clean up than I gave it. It will probably shine more. It has iron inserts that flip over, one side for griddle or sandwiches and the other for waffles. The irons have the groove spout on them to allow grease runoff. It operates perfectly and has a light that shows when ready. No instructions are with it. The top has an engraved design in it that reminds me of wheat. There is a handle on each side and a handle on front with temperature control knob. If you are into chrome appliances. Mark my site. The first round badges were the same Gray Green as the previous square badges and the same as the 1928 Girl Scout uniform. You can identify most of them by the lack of color. This is in EXCELLENT CONDITION. This was available from 1933-1937. The COOK badge has been around since the beginning of Girl Scouting.
