It is just a small basket that I paired up w/ a small pan and they seem to work well together. the basket is 5" across and the pan is about 2.75" tall so I think you would need about 1.5 cups of oil at the most. I fill my stuff up about 1/2 the way maybe a crumb less. as you see there is a sweet tater in the pan that my favorite. this pan is just perfect for the single serving size. This is a really nice deep fryer. It is made in Italy and much better than the Made in China ones. Super powerful so the oil heats up fast and the food is crispy instead of soggy. I have two fryers and don't use them enough to justify keeping both so I am getting rid of this one. It is the famous"roto" fryer which means that the fryer actually rotates the food around as it cooks it. This design allows you to use less oil. There is a nice temperature gauge which lets you know the correct temperature for what you are cooking(seafood. Potatoes, chicken, etc. Personally. I usually use it to cook either chicken nuggets, or beignet/doughtnuts. You can't beat fresh doughnuts! It has a rotating basket inside that is dishwasher safe and there is a little view window on the top too.

I've heard that cast iron can be heated in a furnace and welded with a certain material. But that's beyond my ability. The inside is pitted pretty badly, but the outside is in nice shape. Internal Dimensions: Top diameter: 10" Bottom diameter: 8.5" Inside depth: 2.97" External Dimensions: Top diameter: 10.3" Bottom diameter: ~8.8" hard to measure since it's rounded) Overall length: 15.6" handle to helper handle) Overall height: 3.06" Weight: 2.28 kg/ 5.03 lbs The pan wobbles in all directions. Especially at 10:00(handle down) bottom and inside. There are some smooth patches inside the pan. But ... moremost of it is rough like a lot of rust has flaked off.
