I got this Fry Daddy in an estate sale lot and it does work. It is the original presto fry daddy deep fryer. I degraded it real good with mean green. BUT, while doing so, I let the Mean Green sit on the lid too long and it washed off the writing on the lid. This fryer has original everything. It doesn't come on its box. I tested it and it gets hot RIGHT AWAY. I'm sure it's not 100% spotless but I worked a long time trying to get it cleaned up. This deep fryer has been sitting on my kitchen counter for over 5 years since I used it last. Has wear mares around the thermostat control that can set temperature from 260 up to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. The see through window in the removable top allows viewing while still cooking but is not on some of the newer models. Probably because it is hard to keep clear while in use. It has heat insulating feet that keep it up off the counter and has side handles for moving while hot. There is no crud. Baked on food, or carbon buildup left on it. There are no chips, rust, cracks, breaks, or repairs of any kind to this piece. This skillet is 10 ¼” across the top and with the handle and lift tab it is 15 ¾” long and it stands 3” tall. This skillet style was made in the 1960’s. It sits flat on a hard surface without any wobble and there is no bow to the bottom inside cooking surface. The cooking surface is very smooth to the feel with no holes or pitting and I don’t even see any utensil scratches either. It rings like a bell when tapped with a wooden spoon. The new owner can process and use with confidence in their safety. I only season with three coats of solid vegetable shortening in the oven for about ten hours. I do no oil my cast iron so they show up shiny or better for the pictures. I do not put my cast iron in a smoker to get it black or paint it black.
